Story
Meet Juliet Gorgeous Juliet and her handsome brother Romeo were locked in a crate with no food, water or shelter and left by the garbage dump. Luckily a Good Samaritan came upon them and saved their lives. Romeo has since been adopted but gorgeous Juliet has been with us for over a year now. Juliet is thought to be a Basenji/shepherd mix. She currently weighs about 50 pounds and is absolutely stunning. Thanks to the love and care she is receiving for the first time in her life, Juliet is showing that she loves attention. She loves one-to-one interaction. She connects with her person and relishes every minute of her time together. Juliet seems to do great with other dogs although she has a lot of energy and will need to learn to channel it. We believe she would chase a cat though, so would do best in a home without one. She does best with activities including agility, fetching a tennis ball, and mental stimulation. She'll need a fenced (containment fence) yard so she can run her energy out and play safely. She'll make for a great hiking partner or running buddy. Juliet has a sunny personality. She's very sweet. She is smart and responds well to gentle guidance. Juliet will do best with an experienced dog pawrent to help her transition to a loving home. And, having another active dog in the home would be of great benefit to her. A dog to play with and who can teach her how to live as a fur baby companion. Juliet is a wonderful dog and the lucky person and family who adopt her will be wonderfully rewarded with a loyal and loving puppers. If interested in Juliet, please submit an application online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. If you don't receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please call our shelter at 706-865-4135. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Story
Meet Georgia, a resilient 1-year-6-month-old Shiba Inu/Carolina dog mix, on a brave journey through life's challenges. This brave pup, having survived and shed a virus she contracted as a puppy, has been diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia. This arrhythmia could end her life tomorrow or in a couple of years. Despite this setback, Georgia's eyes tell a story of courage and resilience. She can be shy at first but warms up quickly. Her youthful exuberance persists, and she now seeks a hospice foster to provide her the love she deserves. In the face of adversity, Georgia's playful nature remains intact. She loves to play with her toys, as well as dog friends. She's in search of a compassionate foster home where she will be met with patience and understanding.Georgia promises unwavering loyalty and affection, grateful for each precious moment she shares with a caring companion. Your open home and heart can make all the difference, offering Georgia comfort and solace. Will you be the beacon of hope for Georgia's remaining time, providing her with the quality of life she deserves? I am currently up for adoption. If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an application or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at (770) 887-6480 for more information on me!
