Story
There's no female version of "Where's Waldo?," but if there were, Nina would be it! Walk past her kennel and you'll have to look twice-she's usually cozied up under her bed. Step inside, though, and suddenly you're her new best friend. Nina eagerly heads out for adventures, nose glued to the ground in classic Basenji-mix fashion, happily exploring before racing back for pets. Then it's right back to sniffing! Treat motivated and eager to engage, she'd excel in training, scent work, or just about any activity that keeps her busy and her clever mind challenged. She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. If you're interested in learning more about her, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Nina, 269969". Story
Anck-Su-Namun Breed: Chihuahua you/Basenji mix? DOB: 3-15-2024 Gender: Female, spayed Weight: 8 pounds Microchipped Adoption Fee: $350 Anck-Su-Namun (Suna) is a sweet little girl who has really done well in our program! She loves her walks, enjoys the company of other young dogs, and is learning her basic commands! She's a snuggler and loves lap time! Suna gets along with other dogs and is very attentive and food motivated! She is learning basic commands and is quite intelligent! Suna is agile and now that she has learned to walk on a leash she is excited about hikes and adventures! She can also jump about four feet in the air and readily practices this in greeting her foster family! Sadly, she has also put this talent to use jumping the 40 inch tall dog gate in the kitchen! This girl is a gentle and sweet dog that has a lot of energy, but also has an off switch! She will make a great companion to a family that will take her out for walks or hikes and include her in daily activities. Suna does sing when you leave or come home. She can be heard from a distance. She would not be a good apartment dog. Story
(DOB 11/01/2018) Let's have some summer fun! Charlie, the bundle of fun and energy that’s ready to bring joy to any home! This playful guy is all about having a good time whether it’s running through the sprinkler on a hot summer day or chasing leaves in the back yard in the fall!  Charlie’s also super smart and knows a lot of commands, making him an eager learner. His cuddles are top-notch, and he’s a master of giving sweet, gentle kisses and deep, loving stares right into your eyes. He’d thrive in a home with a yard, or with an active family who’ll keep him moving if they live in an apartment. He’d make an excellent addition to a family with one or two other dogs, though he’d be just as happy being your one-and-only best buddy. We think he'd do great with kids, too! Charlie is playful, loving, and just plain fun—if you’re looking for a happy, energetic companion, he’s your guy! Charlie has a big personality in a compact size (~40lbs), especially when it comes to his interest in those other furries called cats! If he spots a cat, he’s very interested in giving chase, so be aware when you are out and about. He is also still mastering walking on a leash and still pulls but  working on it. Charlie sleeps in his kennel, and he has a nice cushy bed which he doesn't chew. If you have a fence yard and you let Charlie out to romp, run around, play and goof off, know he loves to dig. Keep him busy otherwise he could get into some mishchief. After a long and lovely romp, he likes to chill out in a big, comfy bed on his cot. Are you looking for a guy just like Charlie? Then get your application submitted! As part of Charlie’s $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Charlie, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2239684##
