Story
Delta is a strong-willed 6 year-old who weighs 48 pounds. She is like a Mack truck with short, stubby legs. She is stubborn and as strong as an ox. Think Basset Hound with a mystery twist- and a whole lot of charm. Delta was found on the streets of the Rio Grande Valley, with scars all over her body. She had a hard life which made her the tough dog that she is. She has an old hip injury that doesn't alter her ability to walk or run. She has been through a lot and is ready for her forever home. She will require a tough owner that is willing to train her and make her the best dog she can be. Are you just as stubborn and want things to go your way? If so, then Delta is the gal for you ! She is loving, but would do best in a home where she can be the only dog with her person. She told us she prefers to be spoiled and live her life in the AC on a couch without other dogs to bother her. She will keep you laughing with her crazy antics. She will give you endless loyalty, laughs and love. Delta has tested positive for Chagas disease and is doing great on Dr. Madigan's treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs. For more information, please review here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/chagas She is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas. Her adoption fee is $325 and she is also available for transport to St. Augustine, FL on December 20, 2025. The transport fee is $125 Every dog adopted through Tracy’s Paws receives: • Chagas, heartworm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) • All core vaccines (age-appropriate) • Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives • Regular Deworming • Spay/neuter surgery • Microchip **Breed listings are our best guess, based on appearance.** If you’d like to make this dog part of your family, please review our adoption process and complete an application here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Delta tested positive for Chagas disease and has already started treatment. With treatment, Chagas is fully curable, and dogs go on to live long, happy lives. Tracy’s Paws is one of the first rescues to test every dog for Chagas, and we’ve had measurable success with our treatment protocol. We are also committed to educating adopters and the public about Chagas so even more. Delta tested positive for heartworms and has been treated. Considering this pet for adoption? Story
King was born May of 2020 and we took him in at 6 weeks. He knows basic commands, is super friendly, and playful. Gets along really well with other dogs, cats, kids and adults. He does jump a lot and play growls, but never aggressively. We have a newborn and a toddler with special needs so he does not get the attention or time he needs. Im also pregnant again so it’s a really stressful time. As much as it hurts to put him up for adoption, he deserves much better than what he is currently getting. Preferably would be best in a home with another pet or young child so he has someone else to play with. King is a really sweet dog who thinks he is still a pup and deserves a loving home.

Story
We adopted Rover from a shelter when he was 8 weeks old. He is the sweetest boy and he loves to talk, cuddle, play, run, and is fantastic on walks. He loves to walk long trails with us and loves to bark when we play with him. His favorite snacks are blueberries and goldfish and he hates vegetables. He is potty trained (aside from the occasional excitement induced pee) and he knows basic commands like sit, lie down, stay, come, roll over, spin, shake. Although he doesnt always follow them. He is very smart and easy to train. He can be a little skiddish around new people. We unfortunately have to rehome him due to behavioral issues related to resource guarding. The situations are avoidable in a home with adults only who know how to manage resource guarding. He has a 1x bite history 1 year ago which resulted in broken skin but no stitches, related to resource guarding.
