Story
Have you seen our Betty??  She is just the best!   Betty is a female Basset Hound mix that is estimated to be around 8-10 years old.  She was found roaming the streets alone by some good samaritans who took her into their home and even took the time to try and find her owners but they weren't succesful.  They even went a step further and volunteered to foster Betty until we could find her a forever home.  Unfortunately, finding loving adopters for a senior dog is sometimes very difficult.  We will not give up hope that there is someone out there or a special family that has a heart big enough to give her the love, attention and nurturing that she so very much deserves.  Let me tell you a little bit about Betty.  She currently weighs about 45 pounds, but the veterinarian feels she should be closer to 50 lbs.  Betty is crate trained and potty trained!  Unfortunately, she does not do well with cats.  We feel that Betty would do best in a home with no other pets.  Betty has proved to do well with kids ages 6 and up but she has not been tested around children younger than 6.  Betty enjoys going for walks, riding in the car and hanging out with her amazing foster parents.   She has shown some difficulty going up and down stairs so it is slow going sometimes but she eventually gets there!  She is very food and treat motivated and her fosters have been using a "slow" feeding dish to slow down her eating.  She is up to date with her vaccinations and is spayed.  If you are looking for a loving companion, please consider Betty. We know you won't be disappointed.  Betty's adoption fee is $200 which goes towards veterinary care up to adoption and fostering expenses. ##2469775##

Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. CAROB is a wonderful dog…Basset mix. DOB 2/14/25, current weight 28#s. She came to us in November along with her sister and mother. Carob’s processing was delayed because she was pregnant. We let her have her pups and she did a great job of caring for them and they will soon be advertised. BUT… Carob is ready to go now. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and is a very loving and affectionate dog. She loves to go outside to run and play with the other dogs. She plays with many of my dogs like she’s just a pup. She leaves my 3 cats alone…for the most part. I do have one cat that literally likes to wrestle with her and she loves it. For the most part, she is house trained but needs to learn how to tell you she needs to go out. We do have our dogs on a regimen which allows her to do her business outside regularly. Even though her official name is Carob (based on the name for chocolate) she was called “Mama” most of the time…and this name she knows. She does like to be outside for hours (of course it’s warmer down here in Texas) but she’ll come in when called. She walks on the leash with enthusiasm and rides in the car with no problems. She loves to go everywhere and everyone is a friend. She is crate trained…but can do her Basset Hound howl when she needs to go out. We do not recommend adopting her to anyone living in an apartment. CAROB is a fantastic, loving dog. She’ll make someone a great companion and will be good with children. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received. You can ask us about how pre-adoption works and our "trial period." Adoption Fee: Includes all of the vetting and transportation to WA/OR. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you will have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.
