Story
Meet Tanaka aka Tuna aka Looney Toons! The silliest, most lovable bundle of energy you'll ever encounter.
Tanaka is a 2-year-old mixed-breed girl weighing 32 lbs. Her exact breed mix is a mystery, but she has the look of a tall, leggy terrier (maybe Jack Russell) with a dash of Beagle. Whatever she is, she's 100% adorable!
This goofy girl has adapted wonderfully to life in a home. Her foster says she is extremely adaptable and resilient, always going with the flow and quickly learning her manners and basic obedience. She is housetrained and crate trained, and does well being crated and left alone. She may bark when caught off guard, but is usually quick to settle.
Tanaka is a medium-sized dog with a BIG amount of energy. She's busy, curious, and always looking for something to keep her entertained. She would make an amazing adventure buddy for someone with an active lifestyle. Her energy is very manageable with exercise and mental stimulation, and after a good walk or adventure, she's happy to entertain herself with toys before crashing out for a nap.
A home with a fenced yard would be ideal for Tanaka, giving her another safe place to burn off some of that youthful energy and enjoy being a dog.
What's even bigger than her energy is her love. Tanaka is overflowing with affection and loves to snuggle, receive pets, and greet people with an overly enthusiastic tail wag. She is very social and quickly becomes attached to her humans and friends. And she's proven to be wonderful with kids! Tanaka loves meeting people and has shown herself to be a happy, social girl who enjoys being part of the family.
Tanaka is also great with other dogs. She's eager to play but respectful of social cues and enjoys having canine friends. She is extremely excited to say hello to anyone she meets, greeting everyone as though they are her long-lost best friend. Her enthusiasm does extend to the smaller critters of the world. Birds, cats, squirrels and other little animals are VERY interesting to Tanaka, and she will pull to investigate. Because of her prey drive, she is not suitable for a home with cats or small pets. While she can be strong for her size when something catches her attention, she's only 32 lbs and very manageable with the right handling and continued leash training.
If you're looking for a spunky, affectionate, active little sidekick who will keep you laughing, keep up on adventures, and then happily curl up with you at the end of the day...
Tuna might just be your girl! ❤️
