Story
Meet Moon, a 2-year-old spayed female Beagle-Jindo mix with a stunning coat of gray, brown, and white. Moon currently weighs 8.6 kg and has a heartwarming rescue story. In February 2023, she and her three siblings were saved from being sold to a dog meat farm after being born in a local neighbourhood. Since then, Moon has been blossoming into a wonderful companion.
Moon is a social butterfly who adores people. She loves to nuzzle up to both familiar faces and strangers, happily welcoming pets and belly rubs—even from those she’s meeting for the first time. Although she’s affectionate and easygoing, she may feel a little uneasy around children under 13 due to their sudden movements or loud noises. She’s gentle and trusting enough to be picked up with arms under her belly and doesn’t mind showing her belly to new friends.
When it comes to other dogs, Moon’s socialization journey is ongoing. She grew up only interacting with her siblings, so meeting new dogs was initially a bit challenging for her. Over time, however, she has learned to coexist peacefully with other pups. Moon is polite during greetings but doesn’t often engage in play and tends to shy away from overly energetic or pushy dogs, sometimes with a little growl. She prefers her personal space when it comes to sniffing; while she’s happy to investigate another dog, she’s not as keen when they get too curious about her. Moon’s doggy interactions are improving day by day, though she might still need some guidance when meeting unfamiliar dogs for the first time.
Her experience with cats or birds hasn’t been observed yet, so her compatibility with them remains unknown.
Moon’s energy level is moderate, making her the perfect balance of active and relaxed. She loves outdoor adventures and is content to rest quietly afterward. While she enjoys exploring, she’s still getting used to the big, noisy world. Cars and busy streets can be overwhelming, but she gains confidence as she practices. Moon likes to stay close to her person on walks, often checking in and walking by their side. With time and patience, her love for walks will only grow—especially since she has such a keen nose for sniffing!
This sweet girl is impressively well-mannered. She doesn’t resource guard food, rarely barks, and rides calmly in a crate. However, she does get a little nervous about getting into cars, so she may need to be carried inside for now. Moon is mainly accustomed to outdoor pottying and keeps a clean space.
With her gentle demeanour and loving personality, Moon will surely be a loyal and delightful companion. She’s waiting for a family who will continue to help her gain confidence and show her the joy of the world!
