**Meet Stella! 🐾** Stella is a 19-pound Beagle/Basset mix who is still very much a puppy—less than a year old and full of life, love, and curiosity. With her wagging tail and bright personality, she’s always ready to turn an ordinary day into an adventure. This sweet girl absolutely *loves* food, treats, toys, and attention (especially if it involves sitting in your lap!). She enjoys walks, sniffing everything in sight, meeting new people, and playing with other dogs. When she’s done exploring the world at full speed, she’s just as happy to curl up for a cozy nap. Stella is friendly and people-oriented, making her a great companion. While she hasn’t been formally tested with children, her affectionate nature suggests she’d do well with respectful kids. Because of her puppy energy, she may be a bit much for very small children. She has met a cat before and did okay, but her enthusiastic puppy energy means she’ll need supervision around feline friends. As a young pup, Stella is still learning the ropes. She’s mostly housetrained and uses a doggie door, but like any puppy, she’s still working on consistency and may have occasional accidents. She’s doing well on a leash and is getting used to crate training, though she’d much rather be close to her people. Stella has a **high energy level**—she plays hard, explores hard, and then crashes hard. A fenced-in yard would be ideal for her so she can safely satisfy her love of exploring and sniffing (she *is* a bit of a scent hound!). She’ll thrive with an adopter who is committed to continuing her training and guiding her as she grows. She can be a little stubborn at times, but her sweet, loving nature makes it all worthwhile.
