Thanksgiving Day 2025. While most families were sitting down to dinner, a 4-pound baby was sitting abandoned. Molly was left behind with her mama — no food, no security, no plan. Just a tiny little puppy trying to survive the world on her own. Somebody To The Rescue stepped in that day, brought Molly home, and went back two days later to make sure her mama wasn’t left behind either. Fast forward to now. Molly is five months old. She’s had all four of her puppy shots. She’s going to be spayed and microchipped. She is healthy, safe, and blooming into the sweetest little soul you could ever meet. She is gentle. She is loving. She looks at you like you are her whole world. She can be adopted on her own, or she can go home with her mama. They are not bonded, but they are beautiful together. Zachariah, along with his sister Ava, arrived at Horse Creek Wildlife from the animal shelter on September 8, 2025. This happy-go-lucky beagle mix is bursting with personality! Zachariah is friendly to everyone he meets, with a tail that never stops wagging and a face that’s just too cute for words. He’s all boy—curious, energetic, and always ready for the next adventure. Whether he’s sniffing out fun in the yard or cuddling up for belly rubs, Zachariah brings a whole lot of heart to every moment. Come meet this little charmer—you’ll fall in love fast! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered and current on all vaccinations. They receive monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. All of their medical needs are taken care of before they are available for adoption. Our adoption fee is $100.00. Please complete an application, if you have found a dog you are interested in adopting. Kim Austin, our adoption facilitator, will be in contact with you as soon as she has an opportunity to review your application. Understand that she has other duties and she will not ignore any interest shown in adopting one of our dogs. An application will need to be approved before a scheduled time to visit our dogs will be set up. It may take up to 48 hours before she returns your call or responds to your email, due to work schedules, holidays and adoption events. We do the very best we can for the dogs we have rescued and do not take the adoption process lightly. Please be patient and understand that we will place our rescued dogs in the very best homes possible and reserve the right to refuse applications.

Pete #25147; male; mixed breed; estimated age 2.5 years; approximate weight 40lbs. Little Pete is such a cutie. He was picked up off a county road by a volunteer and never claimed. Pete is neutered, up to date on all vetting, and heartworm negative. He has participated in the dog march and rode on the Christmas float. He is a great size dog – not too small and not too big! Pete plays with other dogs at the shelter but can be selective about his four-legged friends. He also can scale a chain link fence better than any monkey you’ve ever seen! He will need a home with a solid privacy fence if he is allowed outside alone at any time. With a little work he will be a good leash dog.

Copper #22390 9/9/22 Male; mixed breed Estimated age 3years Approximate weight 45# Heartworm negative UPDATE: Due to some inclement weather we had to move around a lot of dogs. Copper (due to his small size) was moved to a 5x5 kennel in the office. He has come totally out of his shell and is a DIFFERENT DOG!! Apparently the loud kennel setting kept this little fella on edge. He would be a perfect dog for a home with a secure fence. Copper is a nervous little guy. He has been with us over two years and has come a long way. He will do best in a home with a confident female dog that he can bond with and feel secure. He will need a fenced yard so he can stay safe. He is a great size and a healthy boy. All he needs is a family that will have patience and allow him time to feel at home.
