Story
Brioche is a sweet 2-year-old Beagle with a calm and loving personality. Brioche enjoys quiet moments and is happiest when relaxing beside his favorite people. He’s a well-mannered boy who knows how to sit and is always ready to show off his good behavior for a reward. Brioche can get along wonderfully with other dogs and would make a great friend for another calm pup like him, but he can be protective of his toys with other dogs that he feels he can boss around. His easy-going behavior and affectionate heart make him the perfect addition to a peaceful home. If you are interested in adoption this sweet boy, please reach out to Amanda at 802-728-1281 or amanda.angell@vermontstate.edu.

Story
Dusty came to CVHS with his canine family, when his owner was moving and unable to take him along.True to his hound genetics, he can be a vocal boy, and will let you know when he`s ready for a walk, mealtime, or anything he feels you need to know. He is crate trained, and getting the hang of walking well on a leash. He has strong feelings about cats, and cannot live with any felines in his next home. He has a nose that likes to work, and loves to chew on a good toy. He has shown at CVHS, and in his prior home, to be selective with his canine friends, so he may need a home without other dogs. He was previously exposed to older children and did just fine. While with us, Dusty injured his ACL, so he has been on reduced exercise for over a month, and he is healing really well! He needs to go to a home where he can get plenty of exercise, but be contained enough to continue to heal. LOTS of sniffy walks and scent work will keep this boy happy and healthy.A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Dusty`s $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org, to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Dusty.

Story
Luna is an approximately 9 year old small-medium sized dog. She was rescued at 2 years old from a hoarding situation, and taken into the home as the only dog, with no children. She did very well as the only the dog in the home, but does not get along with most dogs, we believe based on her history. She loves to sleep and cuddle, is house trained, and is low energy, requiring a sniff walk or some playing each day. She also responds very well to training, she’s been through 2 professional training courses. After having a child, we have seen Luna became much more anxious and we believe she truly would be better cared for in an environment without children. She is not aggressive toward kids, but she is better served by owners who do not have them. She tends to prefer women, but can live with men.

Story
⭐ Meet Stacy: Small Size, Mighty Heart! Get ready to meet Stacy, a gorgeous and determined one-year-old gal who is proof that good things come in small packages! Fully grown at only 30 pounds, Stacy is the definition of small but mighty. She's a resilient sweetheart whose journey started as a stray on the streets of Florida before a kind person stepped in to save her and help her travel north to find her forever home. Her Wonderful Personality Stacy is quickly ready to shower her people with love! She adores giving kisses and getting long, satisfying belly scratches. While she can be a little shy at first, she warms up quickly to reveal her affectionate nature. Her foster dad notes she is super fast and LOVES to run, making a fenced yard ideal for her zoomies! Intelligence and Training This little girl is incredibly smart and her foster reports she will train easily. Leash Work: She's strong for her size and pulls initially, but she settles down and paces you after a short while. A bit of dedicated training will get her happily heeling! Play: She loves to play, especially with a ball (which she'll "mostly" return to you!). House Manners: While she's been kept outdoors by her foster, they have a strong sense she is house trained. She is enthusiastic about wet food but less so about plain dry kibble—a testament to her cleverness! Perfect Home Match Stacy is looking for an active, understanding home: Kids: Because she is a bit jumpy and quite strong when playful, she might be too much for a family with small children (she might accidentally knock little ones off their feet!). Cats: She is not suitable for a home with cats. Loyalty: Her foster believes she is not a flight risk for a loving family—she just needs people to bond with! If you're ready for a loyal, active, fast-running companion who thrives on affection and positive training, Stacy is waiting for her next great adventure with you!
