Story
Hello, meet Max! Max was sadly dropped off and abandoned. The moment we met him, he stole our hearts. This dog literally smiles! Shortly after bringing him home we found out our elderly Jack Russell was not as excited as we were and sadly the situation has not gotten better. Not being able to have the dogs together has become too challenging. Due to this situation, Max often gets left out and he deserves better. Max loves kids and loves going on walks. He learns quickly. Due to our situation we haven’t been able to work on house training, but I think he would learn quick. He’s doesn’t bark, unless you are late for dinner. He’s current on all shots and received a clean bill of health from our vet. He has been struggling with dry skin. He is not neutered, only because we honestly haven’t had the time to take him back to the vet. We did send off his DNA to get a breed breakdown, which can be found in the pictures. He will be two in January.

Story
Misty is a 2 year old female beagle who has a sweet disposition. She needs someone who is either going to take her hunting or at least let her chase rabbits and squirrels as you know beagles are rabbit dogs. She has not been neutered and is AKC certified no need to spay. She has a lot of energy and loves to run. had her basic obedience training and can be trained pretty easily. she is a good guard dog at home, barks when someone comes to the door which is what you want. She has a chip and we always keep her up in her shots and vet visits. She is comfortable going to dog boarding places and she goes monthly to Petco to see a male pet groomer so she’s had her nails trimmed alot. If you have a small yard this is not the dog for you. She’s been trained in a lead in the house, which is very good for dog training. She has a very strong prey pursuit instinct.

Story
Breed: Beagle, Terrier Mix  / Adoption fee is $150  / Sex: Male  / Age: Approximately 6 years old  / Weight: Approx. 35-42 pounds  Hi. My name is Cowboy, I am about six years old and I weigh almost forty pounds. I was surrendered to the rescue when my family was moving away and said they couldn't take me with them. I just don't understand that and was very confused at first. Now, I am over them and ready to move on with my life. I am a social boy, playful and loyal to my family. I talk a lot if someone comes around I don't know and I can sound quite fierce, despite my petite size. Actually I am a big chicken and will stand behind you or run to my crate, please don't tell anyone. I love toys, lots of them. I have always lived in a home with a fenced yard. I went to training classes and know all my basic obedience and how to walk with a harness on a leash. I like walks. I came to the rescue with two problems we have been working on, first I love food and treats. I should only weigh almost fourty pounds but it's hard for me to hold that weight because I will eat anything you give me! So they are watching how much food I eat and I am trying to get more exercise, did I say I love food and treats?  I have been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (including influenza) and tested negative for heartworms. I tested positive for a tick borne illness after intake but the vet took care of me and it's no longer a concern but will cause me to test positive still (no treatment needed). My adoption fee is 150.00. If you are interested in adopting me please fill out an adoption application for me, Cowboy. I could protect you and be your friend if you can do the same for me. Quick View: House Manners: Housebroken and knows doggie door. Basic Training: Knows basic obedience just will need time to connect with new owners. Other Dogs: I can handle dogs of all sizes large or small. I am playful with other dogs, but will also respect their space if they ask. Cats: I was in the dog trainers home with cats and done very well with indoor cats, both the type that interacted with me and the fuzzy one wanted to attack me. Kids: We do not foresee any issues with well mannered kids being around Cowboy Fencing: Not a known escape artist. Respect 5 ft fence.  Important PLEASE read if interested in adoption: We have a pretty open adoption policy, apartments, unfenced yards, and young kids are okay, but only if the pet you are interested in is a good fit for that situation!!! Some dogs may require a fence of a certain type and height, due to safety, the breed or known history. We are looking for pet parents that provide vet care such as routine vaccines for their pets and heartworm prevention for dogs. Please understand we do cross check vet references and landowners/landlord policies and cannot process applications with incomplete or incorrect information. We asked that you take your newly adopted dog for a vet exam in the first 30 days to establish with your vet and obtain their heartworm prevention prescriptions and have a fecal exam administered as some pets may need additional de-womer after leaving our care.    Please submit a  Pre-Adoption Questionnaire by clicking the hyperlink if visible or visiting  Our Home Page to the application link  to show your interest in adoption. Only submit one app for any of our dogs, your app will be on file for at least 1 year. This questionnaire simply helps inform us if the dog you are interested in might match your families' dynamics based on what we have learned about that dog. All of our pets at True Friends Animal Rescue are featured on Our Home Page and can be accessed from our web listings, take a look as there may be more than one in our rescue that you like. if you don't find the information you are needing thru our websites, please submit an E-mail.    November 5, 2024, 5:14 pm

Hank is the sweetest boy who had a rough beginning. He was in a home with several other larger dogs and he was routinely overlooked for affection and socialization. Hank is going to need a special person to make him feel comfortable and work with him on socializing. He seems fearful of men, but warms up after a period of time. If you have the time and love, can you give Hank a chance?
