Hi people of San Antonio! My name is Ralf aka Ralfy aka Ralfy Palfy. My fosters gave me the last nickname because they say I will make someone a great Pal. You see, I was found on the side of the road barely alive after being hit by a car. I couldn't walk very well because my pelvis was broken in three places. But after visiting this place called the veterinarian, I started feeling much better. Unfortunately before my accident I had never met kind humans and still to this day, I'm very easily startled and scared of new people. It's going to take someone very special and patient to earn my trust. But once you earn it, I'm the sweetest and most gentle dog ever. I love love love chest rubs and ear scratches. But my number one love of all time is treats!!! I love all flavors so if you decide to take me home, don't be shy when shopping for me! I enjoy sunbathing and relaxing in my kennel. It's my safe place when I feel overwhelmed. I promise to love you if you promise to take the time to get to know me. I will do best in a quiet house with maybe 1 or 2 adults and an older mature doggy friend. I don't care much for traveling and prefer to be a homebody. I do love to play with doggy friends and don't mind cats either. I'm currently working on becoming more confident in public spaces. What do you say? Can you give me a shot? Ralf is kennel trained and potty trained. He is a local adoption only. His current foster is a trainer who is willing to offer two free sessions along with his adoption to set you both up for success and better help you understand what he will need and how you can help provide that for him. He is a Shepherd mix that weighs roughly 50lbs. Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

Walks on a leash: Yes, strong , needs work. Rides well in a car: Yes, loves to ride with head out the window. Destructive: moderate initially from anxiety/stress/new surroundings. Better when adjusted. Will counter surf, recommend all food and trash cans be put away. Owners did not want her back. Foster comments: Helga is a wonderful girl. She is sweet, calm, smart, loyal and protective. All she wants to do is be with her master. Her ideal home is calm, quiet, non chaotic, no other animals and no children. *no dog parks or crowded places. She appears to have joint/early arthritis issues therefore no long walks or running, she can walk 1/4 mi or less. COUCHY POTATO ALERT!!!!! Story
Sweet Calista came to us with her little family of siblings. Caught roaming the streets we were able to capture them all and get them safe from starvation. Calista is a shy girl. She is going to require someone who has patience and understanding. In a matter or a minute her world was flipped upside down going from having to hunt and scavenge for food to a kennel and food and a bed. It was a lot for a little puppy to take in that had been on her own for so long. She is slowly opening up to her foster mom and every now and then will let her get on her level and come over for some pets/ licks of the hand. Treats and smelling like hot dogs/ peanut butter helps! Calista loves other dogs and gets along great with her foster homes pack. She is playful and energetic with them. Sometimes maybe too energetic as she can be an escape artist and find even the smallest of holes in the fence to see if she can fit and make a b-line to the neighbors house! Calista will need to stay local to Texas for the time being. Each day she is gaining confidence and understanding and realizing that people are not all mean and that there ares some out there that really do love dogs and want nothing but goodness for them. If you think you are ready to give Calista love, attention and help her build trust and confidence in herself and you then please apply! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX only)
