Story
Lilly (A143183) is a 1.6 year old Belgian Malinois and Alaska Husky mix who weighed 42lbs on intake!08/24/26 Lilly was surrendered with her best friend Moose due to no fault of their own! They were abandoned with their 6 puppies with a friend who said they were well behaved, affectionate, and good with babies, children, strangers, men, women, and dogs. They were stated to not do well with pocket pets and iffy with cats so we recommend they go to a home withouth pocket pets and extra caution used with cats. They have no experience with livestock. They do ride well in the car, are housebroken, and kennel trained. They can jump a fence, do jump on counters and people, and sometimes get into the trash. Lilly and Moose know the commands `sit` and `stay` and are known to be gentle when playing. Moose is a little more outgoing than Lilly but Lilly does warm up pretty quick with people willing to be patient with her. We always recommend slow and controlled introductions with all new relationships but especially with other pets and kids. If you are interested in Moose and/or Lilly they would love to meet you too! So give the shelter a call!September 1, 2026, 3:30 am

Story
Blaze (A143186) is a 6-month-old pup who weighed 40.30lbs at intake!08/25/26 These rambunctious pups were surrendered to the shelter and are looking for their new homes! Both Mom and Dad were stated to be Belgian Malinois mixes. These pups can be nervous at first but warm up quickly. They grew up in a home with other dogs and are said to do well. They do not have experience with cats or pocket pets but please keep in mind a Malinois prey drive when adopting into a home with small animals! With their age and breed mix they are energetic and vocal. They are looking for homes that understand the work involved in raising a puppy. As they grow, they will need continued help with potty training, kennel training, basic commands, and continued socialization. They were said to be kennel trained and have done well in the shelter environment. They will also need plenty of mental and physical stimulation in order to grow into well rounded dogs. If you have been looking for an active pup to join the family, please consider adopting and give us a call!September 1, 2026, 3:30 am

Story
Dear Future Human, Hi. It’s me—Mocha. I’m writing to you from a place where the air is crisp, the snow sparkles like magic, and every scent tells a story. Alaska is beautiful… but you know what would make it perfect? You. I’m three years old, spayed, and—if I may say so—quite beautiful. But I think what really matters is who I am on the inside. I’m the kind of dog who doesn’t just live with people—I bond with them. Fast. Deep. You’ll be my person, my family, my whole world. I dream about being a real family dog. The kind that lays near your feet while you drink coffee, curls up on the couch during long winters, and still gets excited when it’s time to go outside and move. Because yes, I’m a bit of both—a cozy couch potato and an active girl who enjoys stretching her legs and feeling the wind in her fur. I kennel well (I know, impressive, right?), and I’m sweet at heart. When I get really excited, I can be a little mouthy during play—but I listen, and I settle down when you ask. I’m trying my best to be the good girl I know I can be. Other dogs? I’m polite. I respect their space and would love a calm, non-pushy companion… but honestly, I’m happiest just being close to my people. What I’m really looking for is a home where I belong. Somewhere I’m not just a dog, but your dog. A place where I can love and be loved, every single day. If you’re looking for a loyal heart, a warm presence on your couch, and a best friend who will choose you over and over again… I’m right here. Waiting for you. Love, Mocha 🐾 Location Anchorage Folks who have an approved application can arrange a visit. Adoption Applications are found on the rescue's website under forms
