Story
Age: 2 years as of 21st of August. Trained: basic commands and some tricks, good recall, heels well on walks. Vaccines: up to date Health: excellent Cats: did well with ours (cannot speak for cats she is unfamiliar with). Dogs: anxious at first but warms up quickly. Unknown people: anxious at first but warms up quickly. Children: doesnt like boisterous toddlers, but fine with preteens and older. (this is common in dogs especially breeds prone to anxiety like shepherds. This is caused by the spontaneity of children and them smelling different than adults). Ideal Home: has time for her physical and emotional needs, preferably experienced with extreme breeds and shepherds. A home that is spacious with high enough property barriers (has never tried to escape but not worth risking with her ability to jump high). Other playful dogs would be ideal given her need for companionship. Note: all her belongings will be given with her free of charge, feel free to come meet her!

Story
Calliope came to us from Kern County Animal Services on March 29, 2024. She is a 5 year old Belgian Malinois mix. Hi, I'm Calliope! Some of the humans here have difficulty pronouncing that, so they usually just call me Calli! I love being around the people here, they say I have some "attachment issue" but I don't see an issue with it. I just always want to see what they're doing and hang around them all the time; so I bark a bit and I've even broken out of a couple crates to try to keep track of the humans. But they keep working on getting me more independent. I'm not a fan. But I'm getting used to it little by little. I enjoy playing with some of my dog friends here (I don't like sharing my food or toys with them though) and laying in the sun and watching the humans, of course. I've been working on basic commands like sit and down as well as leash training and place training, and they say I'm pretty darn good at those! Anyways, I'm going to go continue practicing being an independent lady, wish me luck!
