Story
Max is an incredibly smart, loyal, good boy. He picked right up on "sit", "stay", "lay down", and more without us having to sit and train him. We adopted him was he was 9 weeks old from the county shelter. He needs his final parvo booster. He loves people and is awesome around kids (including toddlers and babies), he's good with dogs, but he has a strong prey drive and IS NOT compatible with small dogs, poultry, and younger/smaller livestock, He and our cat don't get along, and we've had her for 12 years so we're making the difficult choice to find Max his forever home.We dont want any money for him, just for him to go to a home where he can be a full member of the family. He loves running, swimming, and cuddles and is trained incredibly easily. Ice is his favorite treat (it's the husky in him). When we adopted him we were told he's husky+German Shepherd, but we're pretty confident about the malinois now. All of his siblings look husky, he was the only one with the shepherd coloring.

Story
Stanford is a gorgeous, shy German Shepherd with movie-star looks and a soft, thoughtful soul. Lately, he’s been showing his brave side, accepting treats from volunteers that have been cheering him on. Stanford is the kind of guy who doesn’t rush into relationships. He’s more “let’s take it slow and build something real.” Trust, for him, is a journey, not a quick hello. But once you’re in, you’re in—and we have no doubt that bond will be something truly special. Like many shepherds, Stanford is intelligent and quietly observant. He’s just waiting for the right person who sees his potential and is willing to go at his pace. If you’ve got patience, heart, and maybe a pocket full of treats, Stanford just might be your guy. This animal is at the City of Chico Animal Shelter.
