Story
Meet Max! Max came to the shelter on 02/28/2026 after his owner sadly passed away. It’s been a big change for him, but Max is doing his best and showing everyone what a good, loyal boy he is. Max is a very intelligent and active dog who thrives when he has something to do. If you throw a ball, Max will happily bring it back… and then sit there looking at you like, “That was great. Let’s do that again. Immediately.” Fetch is easily one of his favorite things in the world. He’s friendly, playful, and clearly enjoys spending time with people. Max is the type of dog who wants to be part of your life — whether that’s going for walks, playing in the yard, learning new tricks, or just hanging out nearby making sure you’re doing things correctly. Because he’s such a smart and energetic guy, he’ll do best with someone who enjoys keeping their dog mentally and physically engaged. In his previous home, Max was on anxiety medication, so his future family should be willing to continue working with their veterinarian to make sure he stays comfortable and supported. With the right routine and care, Max has all the potential to be an incredibly devoted companion. He’s a handsome, smart, and loving dog who just needs someone to help him start his next chapter. And if that chapter happens to include a lot of fetch, Max will consider that an excellent life decision. Max is available for adoption, so hurry in to meet him! 📍 Max is located at the Richland County Dog Shelter in Mansfield, OH 📞 419-774-5892 It is an application process. You can request one via 📧 dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov

Story
MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Camille, better known as Cami, is a Belgian Malinois with a heart as big as her brain! Born around 3/12/25, this girl is brilliant, loving, and deeply devoted to her people. She is friendly with dogs, cats, and kids. She truly adores children — especially her “small humans,” who she loves to snuggle up with whenever she gets the chance. Cami is already potty trained, crate trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. She plays fetch, takes treats gently, and is an absolute wizard at puzzle toys. Her intelligence really shines — she has even tried agility courses and done amazingly well! This is a dog who loves to learn and thrives when her mind is engaged. Cami is also a big fan of chewing on bones, cozy cuddles, and being close to her people. She bonds deeply and loves hard. Because of her past, Cami does have some separation anxiety. As a very young puppy (around 5–6 months old), she was used as a guard dog in a warehouse and was found wandering alone multiple times by animal control. That early instability left her worried that when her people leave, they may not come back. She is working hard on this and improving, but she will need a patient, understanding family who can offer consistency, reassurance, and lots of love as she continues to build confidence. Cami would do best in a home with consistent routines, mental stimulation, and people who are committed to helping her feel safe and secure. In return, she will give you unwavering loyalty, affection, and joy. Cami is a truly special dog — sweet, smart, loving, and full of potential. With the right family, she’s going to absolutely shine If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training, & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. MBR Farm is offering ONE Free Private Training session for dogs adopted from us in the month of March. That is a $125 value. Any additional session will be discounted to $80 per private session for an unlimited amount of sessions. No limit, no time limit. Your first session must be completed before May 1, 2026. After May 1st the cost of your first session will be a discounted rate of $100. Story
Roxanne (Roxy) has been a great dog. I've had her since she was born in January 2016. Her mom was a Pure Bred AKC Champion Show Siberian Husky that had a run in with a neighbor's fostered German Shepherd. She follows hand/verbal commands really well and is also able to learn new commands. She comes on a whistle or a snap of the fingers. She plays well with other dogs off leash at the dog park but becomes territorial at home or on the leash. She initially doesn't like men but there have been a few friends and family that are men she's warmed up to. So this would be a great dog for a woman that feels like she would needs extra security. I also think she would be a great farm dog and protective of property in that way. She's lived with 2 dogs and 2 cats, as well as 2 toddlers for a few years and I have not had any issues. She can be a grumpy old lady some times but for the most part, she's very pleasant and cuddly.
