Story
Our boy Easy Ryder is a handsome Shepherd mix that is young at just 18 months of age and 75 pounds of strength and muscle.  This intelligent boy is so much fun as he is filled with curiosity and a depth of intense observations that allows him to miss “nothing” that is going on around him.  This boy really loves the girls and so if he was going to live with another dog existing in a family, we would say girls only.  He is OK with cats but a little too curious for us to be totally comfortable that he would not chase.  He has been trained with lots of the things you want a dog to know about; crate trained, good on a leash and he loves long walks or a jogging companion.  This boy would be a great sidekick to ride around in your truck or SUV as you make your rounds and errands in life.  Easy Ryder needs a strong leader and a fenced yard would be truly a needed bonus to have an easy time with his exercise time and bathroom breaks.  If you are interested, please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 31, 2023, 1:02 pm

Story
Babe came in as a stray in rural Tennessee and she was just barely 6-7 months old.  Now she is right at a year and this Shepherd mix girl is filled out and full of fun and curiosity in her personality.  She weighs about 50 pounds now and she is an easy dog to meet with no anxiety or shyness showing.  She has the prettiest blue eyes and the biggest heart and love in meeting dogs and even cats that she tries to befriend. When someone new arrives she will confidently come up and check you out.  She loves to play with toys and especially balls!!!  She is healthy, happy and would need someone that will keep her active and mentally stimulated to learn things.  A smart dog needs things to do that are new every once in a while.   We think that Babe would make some person, couple or family a very good lifetime companion to share life with.   Could that be you!????    ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 31, 2023, 1:02 pm

Story
Meet the bravest Norwegian Elkhound youngster on the planet!   Miss Sealy is a beautiful, happy, content, 18 month old purebred Norwegian Elkhound girl (30 pounds) who was injured by her mom (who was a breeder mom) at 3 weeks of age and has been forever altered in her mobility.  She is not altered in her spirit. It was told to us that Sealy actually stopped breathing when her momma dog attacked her, but a kennel worker saw what happened and resuscitated her. Rushed to the vet’s office she was given a slim chance to survive since she was so very young and tiny. Well this brave girl did survive, but the lack of oxygen short term affected her ability to move.  Sealy has never been able to walk-  but that doesn't stop her from getting where she wants to go. Her legs do move but not in the way that she can walk normally. Until recently she lived her first 18 months of life in a kennel outside in the breeding area.   Fortunately Critter Calvary stepped up to make sure she had a better life and is helping many other normal Elkhounds as well to find good adoptive homes outside of this breeder’s kennels. Believe it or not, Sealy can make her way all the way across the yard by rolling and scooting/crawling.  There is nothing wrong with this baby girl's mind. She is so very smart, and has her ways of letting you know what she does or doesn't want. Sealy likes squeaky toys, certain treats,  loves to be held in your lap, enjoys the sunshine and lying on the grass.  She has the potential to stand if she had the right assistive device- and maybe even move around unaided if she had the special 4 wheel cart! She loves any attention that her human friends will offer her.  She does not care for other dogs or cats getting near her until she really gets to know and trust them.  You can only imagine the vulnerability that she feels because she can't stand up.  She will bark and growl at new creatures until they make friends with her. It has taken about 4 weeks but she's finally realizing the other dogs and cats in her foster home aren't going to hurt her. But again, she cannot harm them since she cannot stand and walk or run.  She lays on her side most of the day and that is why we want to get her a 4 wheel cart and help her see the world from an upright position more hours of the day. Sealy can be housebroken since she prefers to go potty outside and if on a decent schedule.  She will have accidents if she can't go out in time or if the weather is too cold or raining, making it impossible to truly be outside.  She does have to be carried outside and inside to do her business and when she's done she comes rolling back to the door.  She sleeps all night long, but she does get bored and likes to listen to Disney music or the TV. Sealy needs the right home-  someone who is willing to provide the extra support she needs and recognize her for the sweet and special girl she is.  Many people feel Sealy has no quality of life, but that's not true at all!   She has never known any other way and she doesn't feel sorry for herself so we don’t either! We are destined to help fix her forever lifestyle with a person or family who will adore helping her with her special needs. Just like any other dog she has her own personality, her own preferences, her own quirks,  she knows what she wants and doesn't want, she just can't get her body to cooperate at times.  She is an inspiration to all of us who have witnessed her tenacity to get where she wants to go and to still have a smile on her sweet and beautiful face.  Sealy can teach us all to be more grateful, thankful and happier with what God has allowed in our life to make us better.  Sealy has come our way to truly INSPIRE and help us ADMIRE what she has become in her life.  She is NOT a VICTIM but a true VICTOR over her adversities.  We transport northward from Tennessee and we can make arrangements for Sealy to become a part of the right family no matter where they live.  God will pave the way we are sure of that!   Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 31, 2023, 1:02 pm
