This animal is located in our cat room at Chico Pet Vet, which is open to the public Tues-Sat from 8am-5pm. Meet Dakota! Dakota is an adult Bengal cat with a low to moderate energy level and a beautifully independent spirit. Dakota does well with other cats and dogs and would be happiest in a calm home that respects personal space. Dakota is very shy with people and prefers to observe from a safe distance rather than being handled. Being petted or picked up feels overwhelming right now, and Dakota may choose to retreat when feeling unsure. With patience, consistency, and a quiet environment, Dakota has the potential to continue building confidence at their own pace. Excited to find your new family member at Wags and Whiskers? Story
Ginny is a 12 year old Bengal purebred. We got her when she was 7 months old. She is a sweet cat. Doesn't like to be picked up, but she will come sit with you on her own. She has a quiet purr, you almost can't even hear it. Ginny has lived with 2 other cats her entire time with us. She doesn't like new cats, but should be able to get used to them. About 5 years ago she started peeing on things (husband's laundry, kid's toys, blankets left on the floor, couches, etc.) We eventually got her on kitty prozac and that has mostly helped resolve the issue. It is a lotion you put in her ear once a day and costs about $70 a month. She also developed inflammatory bowel disease. Putting her on a hydrolyzed protein cat food mostly helps, but she does continue to poop outside the box. Perhaps a less stressful environment would help. Or someone who can afford to continue running additional tests with the vet's office. We love Ginny very much and hope you will too.
