Story
Sefu is an 10-year-old Bengal with a regal presence and plenty of energy mixed with a healthy dose of curiosity, so a true Bengal! This handsome fellow requires a family experienced with his breed or the willingness to learn about the breed prior to his adoption. He seems to prefer women and does not like being left alone. If you aren't sure, he will tell you all about the problems and issues he has with his environment. He is a real chatty cat! We recommend meeting him prior to submitting an application. Come visit him during our open hours every day, EXCEPT, Wednesdays from 12 -4 pm. The adoption fee is $300 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Please note, that we do NOT allow the declawing of any cat or kitten we adopt unless deemed medically necessary.  We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws. We're open from 12-4 PM Tuesday - Saturday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days. Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day! ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them. Story
Fostered in council bluffs 🐾 We don’t do cats very often, but every once in a while, one comes along that we simply can’t say no to. Meet this absolutely STUNNING 2-year-old purebred registered Bengal. ❤️ He was purchased as a kitten from an ethical breeder for several thousand dollars and has been incredibly loved his entire life. Unfortunately, his mom is going through an extremely difficult divorce and, as much as it hurts, knows that finding him the perfect home is what’s best for him. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and we have complete veterinary records from his entire life. He also comes with all of his belongings. He has always been an only pet, but he is curious about both dogs and other cats and may do well with other animals with slow, appropriate introductions. He is very much a girl’s cat and absolutely LOVES attention and affection from women. He is nervous around men and will need someone patient who understands that earning his trust may take some time. Once he’s comfortable, he is an absolute love. He has excellent house manners, no bad habits, and is looking for a Bengal-experienced home that understands the breed and is committed to keeping him happy and healthy. 🏠 Indoor home ONLY. 🍽️ High-quality food is required. 🚫 Absolutely NO declawing. 🌿 Outdoor time is only permitted in a secure, enclosed catio. And yes, we know he is an expensive cat. His adoption fee will be higher than our typical shelter/rescue cat, but it will still be substantially less than purchasing a Bengal from an ethical breeder. We are looking for the right home, not the first home. ❤️ If you have Bengal experience, understand the commitment of this breed, and think you may be the perfect fit for this handsome boy, please complete an adoption application. We will review applications and reach out to qualified homes. This boy has been very loved. Our job now is to make sure he stays that way. 🐾❤️
