Story
Nita is a Bernedoodle mix born on 11/22/2025 who currently weighs about 5 pounds. Her name means “little bear,” and with her fluffy coat and bear cub looks, she lives up to it perfectly, even if she hasn’t quite figured out how big she’s supposed to get yet. Nita had a rough start to life and was found all by herself at approximately five weeks old, but she didn’t let that slow her down. She has grown into a very sweet, affectionate puppy who loves being close to her people and believes her favorite place is wherever the cuddles are happening. As a typical puppy, Nita is still learning the basics and will need guidance with house-training and obedience. She will thrive in a home that is patient, consistent, and ready to help her learn good manners while also enjoying all the fun that comes with raising a puppy. Nita does well with other dogs and would likely enjoy a canine companion to learn from and play with. She has not yet been exposed to children, but given her gentle nature, she is expected to do well with respectful kids, keeping normal puppy behaviors in mind. She has not been exposed to cats, but would likely do fine with proper introductions. As a Bernedoodle mix, Nita’s coat will require regular grooming, including routine professional grooming and daily brushing at home to keep her coat healthy and mat-free. Her future family should be prepared for the ongoing grooming needs that come with this breed. Nita is a loving, cuddly puppy who is ready to trade her foster home for a forever one, where she can grow up spoiled with affection, guided with patience, and loved for the little bear she is. Her minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
