Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  JoJo is a gentle 4-year-old Bernedoodle with a heart full of love just waiting to be discovered. She came to Underdog as a breeder surrender and is still learning how big and wonderful the world can be. While she has some nervous energy and takes time to trust new people, and men especially, once she feels safe, she blossoms into a loyal, affectionate companion. When Jojo came, she did have allergies and chewed her feet a lot.  We have kept her allergies at bay by feeding her Carna4 brand dog food.  That, a raw food diet, or a cooked whole food diet should be committed to be continued to keep her in optimum health. This sweet girl is potty trained, is good on a leash and loves her daily walks, comes when called, and is eager to learn with plenty of positive encouragement. JoJo would thrive in a calm, patient home with an assertive dog to show her the ropes and help build her confidence. She loves to play and has never met a dog that she instantly considers a new friend.  She would be happiest in a home with a dog 40+ pounds with whom she can race and play.  She is not the kind of pup who will rush into your arms right away, but with love, consistency, and kindness, she will reward you with a bond that runs deep.she binds closest with women, and while she does not need a fenced in yard, she must be leashed at all times. She does have an easier time adjusting to women versus men.  If you have the heart to offer JoJo the patience she needs, she’ll return it with unwavering love and the joy of watching her grow into her best self. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.  Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a    particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Ple ase use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Colton is an amazing dog who would love to become your family’s forever dog.  When he first came to foster care, he had been kenneled for over 2 months after the death of his previous owner.  Colton wasn’t quite sure what to make of his foster family petting him and giving him belly rubs. Now Colton is a big fan of all attention.  At first, he would lie on his mat across the room; now he lies at his foster family's feet.  Colton likes to keep tabs on his people, so he will follow them from room to room during the day.  Colton sleeps on a mat in his foster parents' bedroom - while invited to snuggle with them at night, he isn't quite ready to take that step yet. Due to his Bernese/poodle heritage, he is a large dog. His feet are huge, definitely from the Bernese lineage.  He is the dog that you can just reach out and scratch his head without bending over.   At his latest vet check, he weighed in at 88 pounds.  The vet check found he is heartworm negative, but tested positive for Ehrlichia (a tick-borne disease).  This doesn’t require treatment now, but an adopter should be aware and know to watch for flare-ups over his lifetime. Most dogs live a long, full life with it with no real issues.  His hair is a soft curly poodle, which makes him wonderful to cuddle with.  Colton will need to go to the groomer periodically to shape his coat.  He has been trimmed while in foster care, and he just gives his fosters the look – are you done yet?   Despite his size, he is not pushy, and doesn’t jump on his foster family or visitors to the home. Colton has had some training in his previous life.  He is completely house-trained.  He knows the basic commands of sit, stay, and down.  So far the weather has been too cold to take him for a walk but there is reason to believe he would do just fine.  He lives with large dogs in his foster home, and Colton hangs out with them in the fenced yard.  He has not been around a cat while in foster care. Colton will go into his kennel when his fosters leave the house.  It is not his favorite thing but he will go in; there is no barking or whining.  Colton is a gentle dog with a warm heart that will be a wonderful addition to a family.  Is that your family?   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination.
