Story
✨ STILL AVAILABLE! ✨ Meet the handsome Thoreo (Thor + Oreo) 🐾 — a gentle, goofy boy still searching for his forever home! If you can’t adopt, please share to help him find his people ❤️ 📍 Location: Lexington, SC 🐾 Name: Thoreo 🎂 Age: ~1 year 🐕 Breed: Great Pyrenees – currently 65 lbs (he came to us severely underweight, which may have slightly stunted his growth). Appears purebred — double rear dewclaws ✅, GP-standard coat and eye color — though not DNA-confirmed. ♂️ Sex: Male 💉 Vetting: Neutered, microchipped, up to date on rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella; heartworm negative; current on flea & heartworm prevention; and dewormed. 👧🐶🐱 Good with: Dogs, cats, and kids — friendly with everyone but still has puppy energy, so supervision is best with very young children. He has not been tested around chickens or other livestock. ⚕️ Aggression or medical issues?: None 💖 He can come off intimidating at first because he’s a loud talker and will bark when meeting new animals — classic Pyrenees alerting behavior! But he’s never been reactive or aggressive. He was fully tested with a dominant alpha male who quickly had him submitting calmly, and there were no issues afterward. 🏡 House/crate trained?: Fully house trained. He’s never needed a crate — enjoys outdoor time in true Pyrenees fashion when unsupervised. 💛 Personality: Thoreo is an affectionate, well-mannered boy who loves people and attention. He’ll sit politely for brushing (his favorite activity — except his tail ✂️) and is very food-motivated… just not a fan of veggies 🥦🚫. Walks nicely on leash with only gentle pulls here and there. He was raised as a pet, not a livestock guardian, so he doesn’t show strong “working” instincts yet — but that could develop as he matures. He loves dog friends and would thrive in a home with another playful companion. 🌟 A secure fenced yard is required for his safety and happiness — Pyrenees love to explore! 📩 Message or comment if interested! Please include Thoreo’s name in your message, as I’m assisting with multiple rescues. 📝 Adoption application & contract required to ensure a loving, responsible home.
