Story
Hi everyone, I’m Parker! 🐾I’m ready to tell you a little about myself! My foster mom has given me a few nicknames—Parky Park, Park, and probably a few more I haven’t heard yet! 😂I’m still figuring out this whole “being a dog” thing, but I have to say… I’m getting pretty good at it!When I first arrived, pretty much everything was new and a little overwhelming. But after a month in foster care, I’ve learned SO much! I can walk on a leash (well… sort of 😉), climb stairs, walk through doorways, potty outside, and most importantly, I’m learning that I can actually relax.Foster mom says I still have some work to do, but she’s really proud of me—and I think I’m pretty proud of myself too!I have two doggy roommates: a Pug and a Yorkie. The Yorkie has decided I’m not particularly interesting, but the Pug has been trying to become my best friend. I’m okay with that. We’re taking things at my pace! I have zero food aggression, although I have discovered that if I leave food in my bowl, my Pug roommate considers it an invitation. 🙄There’s also a very strange creature here called a “cat.” I’m not entirely convinced that’s what he is because he smells funny, but he’s dog-friendly, so I’ve decided he can stay. I’ve also met the resident tortoise and was perfectly good with him. 🐢I LOVE relaxing outside, especially on my cot on the porch. A little sunshine, some fresh air, and a comfy spot to lounge? Yes, please! ☀️ Inside, I have my own cozy bed in the living room. Now, about the crate… hard pass. 😂 Foster mom figured out that I’m much happier in an exercise pen where I have a little room to move around. I have a comfy bed and can usually settle down for the night without barking. I do tend to have a few things to say when I’m first settling in, though, so an apartment or condo probably isn’t the best match for me.When I arrived, I was covered in mats and definitely needed a little spa day. Off I went to the groomer, and guess what? I was AMAZING! Foster mom and the groomer were both surprised and very happy with how well I behaved. 💁♀️✨I’m not really into toys yet, but I’ve discovered that chewing on a bone can be pretty enjoyable. And I have learned one very important part of the household routine: BEDTIME BISCUITS! I approve. 🍪Potty training is still a work in progress. I’m a bit particular about where I go and can take my sweet time finding the perfect spot. I’m not a huge fan of going while walking on a leash, so my family will need to be patient with me. I do much better roaming around the backyard, and when everyone heads to the door, I happily follow along!I’m looking for a family who understands that good things take time. I need patience, consistency, and someone who will continue helping me with my basic training while I learn about this big, exciting world.Once I understand the routine, I’m pretty easygoing. I just need someone willing to give me the time to get there.I may not have everything figured out just yet, but I’m learning more every day—and I’m pretty sure there’s a really sweet girl underneath all those new experiences just waiting to shine. ❤️So, if you’re looking for a girl who is a work in progress, has a few opinions, loves a good bedtime biscuit, and is ready to keep learning… maybe I’m your girl! 🐾📍 Located in Trent River, Ontario
