Meet Monk (aka Monkey!)
Monk, lovingly nicknamed Monkey, has quite the story to tell. At not even a year old, this little guy has already been through more than most cats will experience in a lifetime. When Monk was much younger, he was involved in an accident with a dog that left him with significant injuries. He ultimately had to have his hind leg and a portion of his tail amputated.
But if you met Monk, you’d never know he had any reason to feel sorry for himself. He has been an absolute trooper through it all, and now we’re helping him rebuild his strength in his remaining hind leg through physical therapy.
As a result of his injuries, Monk also experiences incontinence. We’re still figuring out exactly what works best for him and his care, but in the meantime, he is more than happy to rock his diaper like the very good boy he is. He is very good with his day to day routine and diaper changes!
And while Monk may have some extra needs, his personality is anything but limited. If Charm School had yearbook superlatives, Monk would undoubtedly be voted **Most Handsome AND Best Personality.** He is a friend to everyone — cats, dogs, humans, you name it. He is endlessly loving, remarkably resilient, and perpetually happy.
Monk is a special-needs boy and will need a very special home willing to accommodate his care. He would be a candidate for **foster-to-adopt** with the right family, giving everyone the opportunity to make sure it’s a good fit and that they are able to accommodate his needs.
Thank you for taking an interest in our very special boy. We truly hope the right person will see Monk for what he is: not the sum of what he’s been through, but a happy, loving little cat who has so much more life to live.
