Story
Bella is a 10 year young Treeing Walker Coonhound. Really, you would never know she is 10. Her eyes are clear, and she has very little arthritis. She was brought to the pound when her owner died. Bella lives with several other dogs - males and females. She is sometimes grouchy with other dogs when they are too forward, stare hard at her or get in her face. But mostly she does get along with other dogs as you can see by her pictures at play dates and with her foster siblings. That being said, she would do fine as an only dog too. Bella's only health issues are hypothyroidism and seasonal allergies. She will need to be on thyroid medication for life. However the medication is only about $11 a month. The allergies respond to benadryl or claritin. Bella LOVES her walks! She can walk up to 3 miles without complaint, and she needs at least a 20 minute walk a day to keep herself in good shape. Bella does well with kids, and adults, but not cats! Bella would do best in a home with an active family who will giver the exercise and the medications that she needs. If you have a soft spot for active seniors, and are interested in adopting Bella, please fill out an application https://docs.google.com/.../1SnhudHYFJaPfZyCeKy36.../edit and her foster mom will get back to you. Bella's adoption fee is $150.   This dog's adoption fee is a minimum $150.00 donation to help us save more dogs. Southern Arizona Beagle Rescue, SoAZBR is an all-volunteer group. Story
Paisley came to us via the pound, where she was turned in as a stray. The pound aged her at 8, but there is no way she is 8. She is 5 or maybe even younger. Paisley is a quintessential Treeing Walker Coonhound with all the breed characteristics. She gets along great with kids old enough not to leave the door open, other dogs, is moderately vocal, is highly scent driven, is stubborn (like all hounds) and is just an all-around silly girl. She pulls on leash and needs work on this. And like every hound, she can never be off leash, because if she catches a scent she will be gone. Unlike most hounds, she is 100% non-destructive in the home. She is house trained with a dog door. Her only issue is that she is a pretty determined door darter. Therefore, she will need to go to a home where people come and go from a door that does not go directly to the outside, and she will need to go to a home with no children or older children who know that they cannot leave doors to the outside or gates in the yard open. We are pretty sure her door darting is what made her become a stray. A local adoption is preferred. If you are interested in adopting Paisley, please go to our web site and fill out an application. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1SnhudHYFJaPfZyCeKy36-9pbowOVOI-xrX4TIiSIxl4/edit  Her adoption fee is $225.00This dog's adoption fee is a minimum $225.00 donation to help us save more dogs.
