This sweet black and tan coonhound wandered up near Talala just days before Thanksgiving- hungry, scared, and hoping someone might notice her. In only two days, she's shown how gentle and friendly she really is. She happily greets new people, does well with an 11 year old child, is friendly with other dogs, but has made it clear she's not looking to befriend chickens. She even sits politely and comes when called, which is pretty adorable for a little stray who hasn't had much guidance.

Miss Beans is a sweet, sensitive hound with a big heart and some very real challenges. She's affectionate and loyal once she trusts you, but she needs an experienced, steady hand to guide her. Beans has anxiety and noise sensitivities, and she can be reactive in certain situations. She has a history of resource guarding and fear based aggression toward children and unfamiliar visitors, so she must go to a home with dog savvy adults only- no kids and no other dogs. Her ideal person is calm, consistent, and confident- someone who understands reactivity and guarding behavior and is comfortable maintaining structure and boundaries. She's made progress with daily medication, routine, and exercise, and she would thrive somewhere where life is predictable and gentle. Miss Beans loves long walks, does great on a leash, loves hiking, rolling in the grass, and playing with tennis balls. She's housebroken, non-destructive, and enjoys quiet time after activity. She can be leash reactive with other dogs. This girl is hoping to find her perfect match. In the right hands, she'll be a devoted, affectionate companion, she just needs someone to meet her where she is.
