Story
Meet Dolly Parton, a beautiful black and tan Coonhound with a sweet soul and a second chance at life. At around 3 years old, Dolly has already been through more than any dog should have to experience. She found herself in a Brazoria County shelter and was scheduled to be euthanized. Thankfully, Three Little Pitties Rescue was able to get her out in time, giving this sweet girl the opportunity to find the family she was meant to have. And Dolly is certainly ready to be somebody’s girl. She is incredibly sweet with people and loves soaking up attention and affection. There’s something very endearing about Dolly—she has the gentle, loving personality of a dog who simply enjoys being close to her humans and being included in their lives. Dolly has also been introduced to a cat and did very well. She showed very little interest and was happy to let the cat do its own thing. When it comes to other dogs, Dolly can be a little more particular. She may become possessive when another dog comes into her space, so introductions and interactions with canine friends should be handled thoughtfully. She may be happiest in a home where she doesn’t have to compete for her favorite things—or her favorite people. Dolly is past the tiny-puppy stage but still young enough to have plenty of adventures ahead of her. At approximately 3 years old, she offers a wonderful opportunity for someone looking for a companion who already has a more mature personality while still having lots of life left to enjoy. Her story could have ended at that shelter in Brazoria County. Instead, Dolly Parton got her second chance. Now this beautiful Coonhound is waiting for the part of her story that matters most: finding a safe, loving forever home where she can finally settle in, be loved, and know that she belongs. If you’re looking for a sweet, people-loving companion with soulful Coonhound charm, Dolly Parton may just be the girl you’ve been waiting for. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6a96f8603dfcaf79eb0a5f48 Questions? Story
Ace is a young hound mix under a year old with a calm, thoughtful personality and just the right balance of adventure and downtime. He enjoys exploring the woods, sniffing around trails, and hanging out near the water, but he is not nonstop hyper or chaotic. After some fun and activity, he settles down nicely. Ace is great with other dogs and with cats. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but once he feels safe, he becomes incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loyal. He is the kind of dog who forms real bonds instead of instantly demanding attention from everyone he meets. He would do great with someone who wants an active companion for walks, exploring, road trips, or outdoor time, while still wanting a dog that can relax and coexist peacefully at home afterward. Currently in Oklahoma but can be adopted to approved out-of-state homes via transport. If an adoption does not work out (rare, but life happens), I always take my dogs back. Fully vetted (neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested). Adoption fee: $450 (includes transport and vetting). Apply here: https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 Transport available to: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95.
