Story
Meet Coco! Coco is as close to perfect as a young puppy can get! She sleeps soundly through the night in her crate but is always happy to snuggle up for some extra morning cuddles. She can be a little nervous with quick movements from kids at first, but once she warms up, she absolutely loves to cuddle with them. Coco is EXCELLENT with other dogs and even respects the space of senior pups. She isn’t much of a chewer, but when she does get the urge, she’s easily redirected to a toy. She’s 95% potty trained —100% her humans are paying close attention! At the end of the day, Coco’s favorite thing is snuggling up and watching TV. She’s been incredibly quiet and hasn’t barked at all since we’ve met her. This sweet girl is truly a joy to have around! Story
Meet Gully, the guy with the biggest smile! Gully is a lovable dog with a big heart and an even bigger smile. While he may take a little time to warm up, once he feels safe, he’s incredibly affectionate, loyal, and eager to please. He already knows his basic commands, is crate trained, and fully house trained—ready to fit into a loving home. Gully has been overlooked, likely because he gets overly excited when people approach his kennel and tends to bark. But don’t let that fool you—he’s just excited to meet you! His training team has been working closely with him, and he’s made amazing progress in learning to stay calm when someone approaches. We’ve also identified certain sounds that can overstimulate him, and we’re happy to share those with his future family to set everyone up for success. At his core, Gully is a happy, friendly, and highly trainable dog who just needs someone to give him a chance. He’s treat-motivated, loves to learn, and would thrive with a family who can continue building his confidence. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's full of potential, Gully is more than ready to meet you! Please text Melissa 440-503-5228 To discuss meeting Gully

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Danger. I'm 1 year old and I weigh about 40 lbs. I was surrendered to the pound after multiple incidents of me and the other dogs I lived with running at large and causing issues in our neighborhood. We are all good dogs, but we haven't been well trained, so we will need a little work on things like basic recall and basic commands. We were all house dogs and we appear to be housebroken. We do well with most other dogs, but definitely will need a families without cats as we do not do well with them. We all love to play and we are super good dogs once we have had our exercise. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable.
