Story
Meet Jamie! Jamie is one incredibly smart and eager-to-please pup who’s spent most of his life waiting for a family to call his own. He arrived at the Ranch in June 2022 with a severe injury, but you’d never guess it—this resilient boy never seemed to realize his start to life was less than fortunate. Now fully healed, Jamie is ready and excited for a fresh start filled with love, learning, and plenty of adventures. What Jamie really dreams of is a home where he can put his brilliant brain to work and make his humans proud. He’s super attentive and seems to anticipate your next move just to bring a smile to your face. Honestly, Jamie is a trainer’s dream—there’s nothing this clever guy can’t learn or do once he sets his mind to it. Taking Jamie for a walk is pure joy. His leash manners are top-notch—no pulling, no jumping—just calm and focused companionship. He’s curious but respectful of other people, dogs, and even the park’s wildlife. On one stroll, he checked out some geese and chipmunks with interest, but never once tried to chase them. And when those playful zoomies hit? Jamie makes sure to dodge you with the grace of a pro! Jamie has also spent time with both male and female dogs and seems to genuinely enjoy having a furry friend or two to romp around with. Because of his gentle nature and calm demeanor, he would do best in a home with older children or adults who can provide the patience and understanding he deserves. Could you be the special person (or family) Jamie has been patiently waiting for? This smart, gentle, and loving boy is ready to make your home his forever. Call the Ranch today to meet Jamie and see if he’s the perfect match for you! Story
Meet Dustin – A Sweet, Playful Guy Ready for His Forever Home! Dustin is a gentle and sensitive boy who came back to us through no fault of his own after being adopted as a puppy. His previous family had to move and couldn’t take him along, turning his world upside down. Despite this, Dustin remains loving, playful, and always ready to share a long cuddle with his people. Confidence is his middle name — Dustin is eager to explore new things and meet new friends with a curious and adventurous spirit. Having grown up around dogs, cats, and kids, he’s incredibly adaptable and would likely fit into just about any home environment. He even did well with chickens! He adjusts easily to all types of dogs and has a calm, confident way of keeping rowdy or pushy young dogs in line, showing his natural leadership skills. Dustin knows his basics, including decent leash manners and the command “Sit.” He’s attentive and eager to learn, making training a breeze. Because he’s already experienced living in a home, Dustin is expected to adjust smoothly to his new family. If you’re looking for a loving, well-rounded companion who will fit right in, Dustin is ready to meet you! Call the Ranch today to come say hello to Dustin! Story
Meet Red Red — The Sweetest Comeback Kid Red Red isn’t just a handsome face; he’s a survivor with the heart of a gentle giant and the easy-going spirit of a floating hippo. After facing a traumatic injury as a young dog, this mellow boy has grown into living proof that even after life knocks you down, you can rise again—softer, sweeter, and snuggly as ever. Affectionate and playful in delightful little bursts, Red Red is also a world-class nap enthusiast. But his true passion? Hippo mode. Whether it’s a kiddie pool, a pond, or even a hearty hose puddle, this chunky king will settle right in, sink his belly, and soak like he’s at a five-star spa. Water is his happy place. Red Red’s Perfect Day Looks a Little Like This: A slow morning walk with extra time for sniffing A midday soak (hippo mode: fully activated) A bit of afternoon play Cozy evening cuddles Repeat forever Calm, attentive, and full of quiet affection, Red Red thrives in a peaceful home. He’d love to have a gentle female dog friend—his best buddy, Miss Kay, is his constant companion and the two are practically glued together. Red Red isn’t high-maintenance. He’s high-heart, high-charm, and high-chill. If your home has a soft bed, a splash zone, and space in your heart for a sweet, soulful boy, Red Red just might be your perfect match.    Read Red Red's Dog of the Week post here:  https://rrdog.org/dw/meet-red-red/   You can read more about Red Red here: https://rrdog.org/dog-shot-in-the-leg-saved-by-good-samaritan-now-on-the-mend/   Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog. Story
Meet 'Miss' Kay - A Mamma Dog with a Heart Made of Gold  Miss Kay is the kind of dog who looks at you with eyes that say, "Thank you." Every. Single. Day. After surviving on her own with three babies to care for, Miss Kay has stepped out of survival mode into her true self - a gentle, oversized lap dog who wants nothing more than to love and be loved.  She's cuddly, soft-hearted, and sweetly submissive, often leaning into her trusted humans for affection or wrapping her front paws around you in what can only be described as a true hug. Her love is quiet but deep - the kind of connection that grows stronger with every passing day.  Her favorite things: - Playing with extra-large male dog friends. - Lounging with her people and soaking up attention - Quiet companionship, soft toys, and calm surroundings Miss Kay thrives in a peaceful home with adults or older children, and would love a securely fenced yard to explore. She's best suited for dog-savvy owners who can offer her patience, gentleness, and the steady kind of love she's waited so long for. She raised her babies the best that she could, and now it's time for her to be someone's baby.  If you've got a calm space, a warm heart, and a little room on the couch - she'll fill it with loyalty, love, and the sweetest hugs you've ever had.  Read Kay's Dog of the Week post here:  https://rrdog.org/dw/meet-kay/ Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog.
