At 8 months old, he is still very much a puppy and is at a wonderful age where he is eager to learn, bond with his family, and experience the world around him. He enjoys attention, companionship, and being involved in daily activities. Teddy has the playful curiosity that young dogs are known for and would thrive in a home that can provide guidance, structure, and plenty of positive experiences as he continues to mature. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Young dogs especially still require continued guidance, structure, patience, and supervision as they mature. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should expect to continue training and support after adoption. Adopting a young dog means being prepared for: Potty training reinforcement and occasional accidents Leash training and obedience work Jumping and playful puppy behavior Continued socialization and confidence-building Daily exercise, structure, and supervision Routine veterinary care Financial commitment throughout the dog's lifetime Teddy will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Exercise and mental stimulation Patience, consistency, and supervision Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, guidance, and commitment, dogs like Teddy blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Teddy will need: Daily walks, exercise, and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine veterinary care and wellness exams Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and weight management Mental stimulation and enrichment A safe, stable, indoor living environment Because Teddy is still a young dog, consistency and structure are especially important in helping him mature into a confident and well-balanced adult dog. Teddy is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
