Story
If you’re in the market for a new couch companion, look no further than our sweet Georgia peach. How an Olympic Gold Medalist in both cuddling AND napping is still available for adoption, we’ll never know... but that just means you still have a chance to make her all yours! We know you're already itchin' to learn more about your new BFF. Who better to tell you all about Georgia than the house hippo herself? “Hi, I’m Georgia! What took you so long? Just kidding. I’m just glad you’re here. Things haven’t always been so great for me in the “home” department. In my short life, I’ve already been on the euthanasia list at two different shelters and survived a true house of horrors when I ended up at an abusive ‘rescue.’ Woof. But my foster mom says none of it was my fault and that I’m very resilient because of it. Whatever that means. Thankfully, I’m still a giant goofball and chockfull of love to give my future family. You can usually find me on the couch or my favorite bed doing what I do best—napping. I also love to romp around with my foster sis. I would do great with a fur sibling who can keep up with me (go hard or go home) but would also be more than content as your only child. Whatever you do, just don’t ask me to share my toys! You already know I’m excellent at cuddling, but I do have to warn you—I’m also a hugger. Actually, ranked best hugger in Harris County for 147 years running. I’m not lying, you can google it. Okay, okay. I’m almost done, I promise. I know all bodies are beautiful, but mine is a work of art. I’m large and in charge, just the way I like it. We’re all about body positivity over here. Don’t worry, I’m healthy as a horse. I’m spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and finished the AHA-recommended treatment for heartwormies last year. It’s time for me to claim my spot on your couch and in your heart. I’m ready whenever you are!”

Harriet Potter earned her name because of a scar, of course; though it has since faded, it is a reminder of how much she overcame to still be with us today! HP was left on the side of a road after being hit by a car on Christmas. She was diagnosed with multiple fractures in her legs, pelvis, and spine and required multiple surgeries to save her life. Looking at her now, you would never even know it. This girl is remarkable. HP has both human and fur foster siblings, and she can't get enough lovin'. She is excellent with kiddos of all ages (she's even gentle with the infant she lives with!) and is a fan of both cats and other dogs. She's crate-trained, house-trained, does well on her leash, and will do just about anything for another treat. In other words, HP is perfect... and she's ready to meet you!
