The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.helpingstrays.org

Story
I'm fostering a Very gentle loving Senior male full breed Coonhound for adoption/rehome.*  He is gentle good with other animals and children (school age). His owner passed away and his family released him in the woods. A friend of mine trapped him as he was reluctant to come when gestured or enticed with treats. I found him to be a wonderful dog with a great disposition. Still a bit cautious but learned to trust more within a week. He loves to be petted; especially his ears and belly. Full Veterinary record since I took him in. He is healthy. 2 walks per day and hopefully a fenced in yard will do it.
