Story
Barney is the kind of dog that makes people stop mid-sentence and say, “Now that is a Bloodhound.” Born May 20, 2025, he’s still very much a baby at heart—even if that baby already weighs 75 pounds and is expected to grow well past 100 as he matures. Big, goofy, gentle, and full of personality, Barney is as sweet as he is stunning.   He has the perfect mix of playful energy and laidback charm. One minute he’s romping around the house with his tiny Parsons Russell Terrier girlfriend like a clumsy, oversized puppy playing hide and seek, and the next he’s sprawled across the floor looking completely content with life. Watching the two of them wrestle and chase each other is pure comedy and proof that best friends don’t have to come in matching sizes.   Barney is fully house trained and has wonderful manners in the home. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and is perfectly comfortable with cats. His long ears are still growing into him, his rich crimson coat shines, and he is healthy, strong, and thriving. He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on all vaccinations.   Despite his future “small pony” size, Barney believes he belongs as close to his person as possible. Lap dog may not be realistic, but resting his big hound head on your shoulder absolutely is. He wants to be wherever you are and would happily ride shotgun for every errand, road trip, or adventure you can dream up.   Because of his size and hound instincts, Barney will need a fenced yard or plenty of safe space where he can stretch those long legs and explore. More than anything, he wants a person to call his own—a sidekick for life. Bring Barney home and you’ll wonder how you ever lived without a Bloodhound.   Ready to go now. Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 19, 2026, 12:14 pm

🐾 Meet Trigger: A Training Grad, Trail Star, and Snuggle Pro! 🐾 Trigger is a 2-year-old smart, energetic, and affectionate boy who’s ready to show off just how amazing he is! This fun-loving pup has recently graduated training and has done phenomenally—his progress has been nothing short of impressive. 🎓 Training Rockstar Trigger walks beautifully on leash and has mastered excellent leash manners, calmly ignoring other dogs, kids, and passing cars. He confidently holds downs and stays even with distractions, and he’s been crushing it on field trips to stores, practicing his skills in real-world settings. He’s learned how to be neutral around other dogs and continues to show just how smart and capable he is. This boy loves to learn and truly shines when given a job to do! 💛 Trigger’s Favorite Things Active Adventures: Long walks, car rides, and playing fetch (he’ll even toss his own toys to keep the fun going!) Playtime: He enjoys strong, playful interactions and does best with someone who can match his energy. Cuddle Time: After a busy day, Trigger is all about snuggling up and soaking in quality time with his people. Trigger is excellent with kids and would make a wonderful companion for an active family or individual who wants a dog that can join them out in the world—and relax at home afterward. With his solid training foundation and eagerness to please, Trigger is set up for success in his forever home.
