Story
Male, approx. 6 years old, 47 lbs personality: Gentle, energetic, rambunctious, adventurous, brave, and outgoing. Iggy is a gentle and adorable one-eyed hound who is looking for a home where he can enjoy being outside and exploring, particularly when there are so many smells and friends in the neighborhood! Iggy may be 6 years old, but that doesn't stop him from playing with anyone who is interested -- human or dog. Some of Iggy's new favorite activities include cuddling on the couch, taking walks around the neighborhood, and enjoying some delicious treatos! Iggy is an older pup who is soooo grateful and excited to have a second chance at a better life, with lots of love to give in return. Don't let his age fool you, Iggy is a great hiking buddy who loves to explore and use his good ole hound nose. When not out and about, Iggy loves relaxing on a comfy couch or bed and getting plenty of pets. He has also discovered the joys of food puzzles and would love to try all the lickimats, kongs, and toppl food puzzles there are! With Iggy, you can absolutely teach an old dog new tricks: he is doing well with housetraining and still working on crate training. He is learning new words day by day (a good snack during training doesn't hurt either...especially some yummy peanut butter), but still needs training on his "inside voice". Iggy does great with both dogs and people - including kids. He has been very gentle with the many children visitors to his foster family's home. There's nothing sweeter than a hound who is ready for a second shot at a better life! Are you ready to spoil Iggy and be his furever person/people? We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained. We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.
