Winston is a loving, energetic young boy with the affectionate personality of a Lab and the curious, adventurous spirit of a Coonhound!
He absolutely LOVES people, enjoys other dogs, and has enough personality to keep his future family entertained every single day.
This handsome boy is still very much a puppy at heart. He's goofy, playful, strong, adventurous, and sometimes forgets just how big he is! Whether he's doing zoomies around the yard, splashing in water, wrestling with his doggy friends, or deciding that jumping OVER the couch is much more fun than walking around it, life with Winston is never boring! 😂
🐾 WINSTON'S FAVORITE THINGS:
💙 Long walks with plenty of opportunities to sniff and explore.
💙 Running, playing, sunbathing, and splashing in water.
💙 Wrestling and roughhousing with other dogs. An energetic canine sibling would be a dream!
💙 Tug-of-war, squeaky toys, Benebones, and anything he can enthusiastically shred.
💙 Outdoor adventures with his favorite humans.
💙 Climbing into your lap for cuddles once he's finally worn himself out!
🎓 SMART BOY WITH LOTS OF POTENTIAL!
Winston already knows sit, lie down, and drop it! He's continuing to work on his recall, leave it, polite greetings, and keeping all four paws on the floor.
When Winston gets excited, he can be jumpy and mouthy, and sometimes his enthusiasm gets the best of his listening skills. He needs a family who understands that he's still learning and is willing to provide patient, consistent, positive reinforcement training.
He's a smart boy who will benefit from plenty of physical exercise, mental enrichment, and opportunities to put that hound nose to work!
🏡 WHAT DOES WINSTON'S PERFECT HOME LOOK LIKE?
Winston isn't looking for just any home. He's looking for the RIGHT home where he can thrive!
🐕 An active family: Winston needs people who enjoy outdoor adventures, long walks, and plenty of playtime.
🐕 A securely fenced yard: His Coonhound instincts are STRONG! Squirrels and small animals immediately catch his attention, and this athletic boy can jump surprisingly high. A tall, secure fence is important to keep him safe.
🐕 A playful canine sibling: Winston loves other dogs and would likely thrive with another energetic dog who enjoys wrestling and playing. A meet-and-greet with resident dogs will be required.
🐕 Older children preferred: Winston is good with children, but because he's strong, energetic, and still learning his manners, a home with older school-age children would likely be the best fit.
🐕 An experienced, committed family: Someone familiar with hounds, Labs, or other energetic large breeds would be wonderful! Winston needs structure, patience, exercise, and continued training.

After a full day of adventures, Winston is more than happy to settle down and climb right into your lap. He may be a big, goofy boy, but he has so much affection to give.
