Story
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be safe and warm, with a soft bed to sleep in and four walls to protect you from the elements? Unfortunately, little miss Tinkerbelle was left to wonder about those things for a good part of the beginning of her life, having spent most of it living in an outdoor shelter. Tinkerbelle is a beautiful bluetick coonhound mix, a little over a year old, currently weighing in at about 45 lb., and working on gaining a little more weight. This baby is loving getting some extra kibble every day, and is a little protective of her food. She does very well going potty outside as long as you take her on a walk a couple times a day or have a yard where she can run around and have enough time to do her business. She’s been a very good girl around the house while foster mom is home, and hasn’t chewed anything she shouldn’t, even when unsupervised. She sleeps in her crate all night and is a good girl in there during the day while her humans are away. She doesn’t love it, and will bark for a few minutes, but she settles down fairly quickly.
When you are home, there is no place she’d rather be than hanging out around the house with you, often following where you go, just to be in the same room. She is playful and energetic, but is also fine laying around the house while you go about your daily routine. Again, either time to play in the yard or a couple of walks a day should suffice to give this girl the exercise she needs…but if you are an avid outdoors-person, she’d be perfectly happy with that and could easily keep up. Long walks – yes, please! Running around in a yard – absolutely! Hiking – sure! If you’re into it, she’d love to tag along. She’d probably even be a good running partner, and does pretty good on leash…just expect some sniffing - she is a hound, after all.
Tink enjoys having other dogs in the house. Her current buddy is a 4 mo. old beagle mix. No cats – she likes to chase them. No small children, as Tink is a little too rambunctious when she gets excited, and tends to jump up. Older, respectful kids should be okay.
This girl is just looking for a soft place to land and someone to call her own to love and live out the rest of her life with. If she sounds like the girl for you, please apply now. She is so ready to start her furever. Tink is available for adoption now through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA 15144 KL #16182, and is currently being fostered in the South Hills. She’s spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations and preventatives.
