Story
Are you a big hound lover? Boomer is the hound for you. Boomer was abandoned on a farm when his family moved. The local Animal Control Officer kept him at his home until rescue could be found and said he's an easy-keeper. We discovered that Boomer was heartworm positive and he's been staying at a Virginia foster home for treatment. Boomer likes to lie in the sun, or on the floor, or in his crate. He enjoys a stroll around the yard and plays a bit with calmer older dogs. If you have chili or scalloped potatoes to offer, he'll help clean up in the kitchen. We also discovered that Boomer has a UKC pedigree going back 6 generations. At one point, someone must have valued him highly and it's hard to know what brought about the change that left him homeless. Boomer is about 4 yrs old and weighs about 75 lbs. He'll make the trip north to Massachusetts in late August. If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below. Story
adoption donation : $599 weight 38lbs Age 6 months       Charlie is a sweet and friendly girl who loves everyone she meets. She was found abandoned at a truckstop in a rural part of Mississippi and luckily rescued by Wags. At the rescue, she is having a blast running and playing with all the dogs, she just loves other pups! In the house, she is mellow and chill and loves to follow her Foster Mom around.  Charlie has been spayed and vaccinated and is ready to travel to the northeast as soon as the weekend of August 9th. Charlie is housebroken at Wags but like any rescue pup will likely need some training as she adjusts to a new home. She has beautiful and appeared to be a Catahola Leopard dog, very common in Mississippi and known to be very smart and loving dogs. Charlie is just the best, she will  make a wonderful  member of the family.    Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes! Story
BEING FOSTERED IN CT This cute little boy with brilliant blue eyes is full of fun and ready to share it with you! He is a typical puppy.... loves to meet new people, loves to play with other dogs, loves his toys, loves to snuggle and loves to give kisses. He is one big love bug! Luke is also very treat motivated, so will easily learn what you would like to teach him. Luke's foster mom says "He LOVES to play ball outside. He goes and goes, but when we come inside, will settle right down for a nap or grab a bone or another toy. He is great at entertaining himself. Luke is a fan of car rides and all the smells that accompany them and seems to treat every new experience as the best adventure ever! He is so wiggly and cute when greeting you. We are working on keeping paws on the ground, and on being a better leash walker right now." Luke is about 9 months old and 40lbs. He is neutered, up to date on vetting, microchipped, house trained and crate trained. If you would like to make Luke a part of your family email bigyellowgoose018@gmail.com for an application.

Story
Meet Daisy Mae! Adoption Fee: $449 Includes transport Adoption Application - Copy & Paste https://forms.gle/FmtRtYxQNnemdkdw9 This gorgeous hound is ready to leave her days as a stray behind and start the next chapter of her life with a family of her own. She was found wandering on hunting land and was thankfully taken in by a kind couple who made sure she received all of her veterinary care. Now that she's healthy, spayed, and ready to go, they've asked Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue to help her find the loving forever home she deserves. Around 3 years old and weighing approximately 70 pounds, she's a beautiful, gentle girl with a sweet personality. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and currently lives happily with canine companions. She also does great with children, making her a wonderful family dog. Because of her prey drive, she would do best in a home without cats. This lovely hound has overcome a difficult beginning and is more than ready to be someone's loyal companion. If you're looking for a faithful friend to share your adventures, your couch, and your heart, she may be the perfect match. Please submit your adoption application today—we can't wait to help this beautiful girl find the forever home she's been waiting for!
