Story
Tortilla Chip believes every new room deserves a proper inspection. The kennel door opened, and instead of charging ahead or hanging back, he stepped out with quiet confidence and started making his rounds. Nose to the ground, he wandered from one corner to the next, carefully sniffing every inch of the room as though he'd been appointed the official quality control inspector. Nothing escaped his attention! Not the furniture, not the toys, and certainly not whatever his siblings happened to be doing. Go watch Tortilla Chip, the Tiny Investigator on YouTube, then come right back to read more! You'll see him happily exploring his surroundings, checking in with his siblings, and showing interest in the wand toy. One of the funniest moments comes when the feathered snake wand makes its appearance. Tortilla Chip gives it a look that says, "I'm not entirely convinced about this thing," before deciding he'd rather continue his own investigation instead. It's a perfect glimpse into his thoughtful, easygoing personality. Estimated to be around 2.5 months old, with an estimated birthday of May 1, 2026, Tortilla Chip is a handsome all-black Bombay-type kitten. As with all rescue animals, his age and breed are our best educated guess! Tortilla Chip is part of a litter of four kittens who came to Three Little Pitties and have been under our care due to exposure to panleukopenia. They've spent time safely quarantined while receiving excellent care, and now they're healthy, growing, and ready to experience home life for the very first time! During our visit together, Tortilla Chip struck a lovely balance between curiosity and calm. He wasn't in any hurry. He simply explored at his own pace, stopping to investigate new scents, checking in with his siblings, and taking in everything around him. For a kitten who has spent much of his young life in quarantine with limited opportunities to experience the world, he handled a brand-new environment remarkably well! Playtime quickly became part of his investigation. Springs caught his attention, and he happily joined in, batting and chasing alongside his siblings. The feathered snake toy, however, didn't earn quite the same approval. He gave it a cautious once-over before deciding it simply wasn't his style. Every kitten has preferences, and Tortilla Chip wasn't shy about expressing his. Being picked up wasn't exactly his favorite activity, but he handled it with quiet politeness. He never hissed, scratched, or tried to bite. After a few moments, he simply let us know he'd rather continue exploring by gently squirming his way back to the floor. It was another reminder that he's still learning about people and that each positive interaction helps build his confidence. Like the rest of his litter, Tortilla Chip has become comfortable spending time in a kennel because it's all he's really known while completing quarantine. Even so, he already shows signs that he'll settle nicely into home life. He approached new people with curiosity, adapted well to a brand-new room, and seemed eager to investigate everything around him. We think once he has a family, plenty of playtime, and the chance to experience everyday life outside of quarantine, his personality will continue to blossom! Tortilla Chip would be a wonderful match for someone who appreciates a kitten that's curious without being over-the-top. He'll likely enjoy interactive toys, cozy places to nap after his adventures, and a family willing to let him continue discovering the world one careful sniff at a time. Another playful cat would likely be a welcome companion as he continues building confidence! Story
Chile Chip has mastered the art of being brave in tiny, meaningful ways. She doesn't burst into a room expecting to own it. Instead, she takes a quiet look around, watches what everyone else is doing, and then decides, "Okay... I think I can do this too." It's a gentle kind of courage that's incredibly rewarding to watch because with each passing minute, you can actually see her confidence growing. Go watch Chile Chip, the Quiet Explorer on YouTube, then come right back to read more! You'll notice how she keeps a close eye on Queso Chip, often following his lead as they explore together. Watch for her adorable little hops when something unexpected startles her, and don't miss her climbing into the decorative bowl that she quickly decided made an excellent little hideaway. One of our favorite moments is when all four kittens are placed on the couch. Chile Chip quietly becomes the first and only one to figure out how to jump down, proving she's more resourceful than she first lets on! Estimated to be around 2.5 months old, with an estimated birthday of May 1, 2026, Chile Chip is an all-black Bombay-type kitten. As with all rescue animals, her age and breed are our best educated guess. Chile Chip is part of a litter of four kittens who were exposed to panleukopenia. They've spent time safely quarantined while receiving the care they needed, and now they're healthy, growing, and ready to discover what life in a home can be like! It's important to remember that Chile Chip has spent much of her young life in a kennel during quarantine, so many everyday experiences are still completely new to her. Considering that, she handled our visit remarkably well. She entered the room feeling understandably cautious, and sudden movements or unfamiliar sounds would occasionally send her hopping backward in surprise. But she never shut down. She kept trying. Every time she startled, she'd slowly circle back to see what she'd missed, and that quiet resilience was one of the sweetest things about her. Chile Chip isn't usually the first kitten to volunteer for a new adventure, but she's often the second. Watching another kitten investigate something first gives her just enough reassurance to join in herself. She seems to find comfort in companionship, especially her brother, Queso Chip. Chile Chip often watched what he was doing before deciding to investigate. She'd quietly watch where he wandered before deciding it was worth checking out too. There's something incredibly endearing about the way she quietly builds her confidence by observing first and exploring second. When it came to toys, Chile Chip showed some interest in the wand toys, but she was much more captivated by the room itself. Every corner deserved a sniff, every new object was worth investigating, and the decorative bowl quickly became her favorite discovery. She happily climbed inside, peeked over the edge, and treated it like her own tiny clubhouse. Being picked up wasn't something Chile Chip enjoyed just yet. She'd softly squirm to let you know she'd rather have her paws back on the floor, but she never hissed, scratched, or tried to bite. Even her little meows were gentle, as though she was quietly sharing her thoughts rather than making demands. She's simply a kitten who feels safest when she's allowed to approach new experiences at her own pace. One of the most memorable moments came when all four kittens were sitting on the couch together. While the others stayed put, Chile Chip calmly studied the situation, found her own way down, and continued exploring. It perfectly captured who she is! A thoughtful little problem solver who quietly figures things out for herself. Because Chile Chip is still building confidence, we'd love to see her join a family that understands the value of patience. Soft voices, gentle introductions, and allowing her to move at her own speed will help her realize just how safe and wonderful home can be. Every small success will become another reason for her to feel a little braver the next day. She hasn't had exposure to dogs or young children yet, so thoughtful introductions will be important. What we do know is that she's comfortable in her crate, adapts better than you might expect to new surroundings, and has already shown us that underneath her cautious first impression is a curious little kitten who's ready to bloom! If you'd like to welcome Chile Chip into your family, please submit an adoption application today! Story
Some stories begin with heartbreak, but Damita's is proof that love can change everything! At just 8 weeks old, this beautiful all-black kitten has already overcome more than most. Damita was found by a dedicated street feeder suffering from a severe case of ringworm. Thanks to her wonderful foster, our medical team here at the rescue that stepped in with proper medical care, patience, and lots of love, she's made an incredible recovery! Damita is now healthy, happy, and absolutely thriving in her foster home! Damita has a quiet, gentle spirit that makes her impossible not to fall in love with. She was understandably a little reserved during her content session after everything she'd been through, but her foster says that at home, she's a completely different kitten. Once she's comfortable, her playful personality shines. She's happiest chasing toy mice across the room, batting around jingling balls, and enjoying all the little adventures kittenhood has to offer. When playtime winds down, Damita transforms into the sweetest cuddle companion. She adores affection, happily soaking up pets, snuggles, and any opportunity to spend time with her favorite people. Beneath her soft black coat is an even softer heart that's just waiting for the right family to call her own. Damita has settled beautifully into her foster home's routine. She consistently uses the litter box, enjoys wet food in the morning and evening, has kibble available throughout the day, and has a healthy appetite. She gets along wonderfully with the large dog in the home and is comfortable around the resident cats as well. While there aren't young children in her foster home, she was calm and gentle when handled by a 12-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl during her content session, showing just how trusting she's becoming! Like any young kitten, Damita will continue to benefit from patience, consistency, and a loving home where she can keep building her confidence. Her journey is a beautiful reminder that with the right care and support, even the toughest beginnings can lead to the happiest endings. If you're looking for a kitten with a resilient spirit, a playful heart, and endless love to give, Damita is ready to write the next chapter of her story, with you! Story
Some kittens make grand entrances. Chicken seems to have decided that sounds like a lot of work! As the only boy in his litter of three, Chicken has earned a reputation for being the laid-back one. While his sisters are busy making sure everyone knows exactly what they think about things, Chicken is usually nearby, quietly enjoying whatever activity is already happening. He has a remarkable talent for going with the flow, which makes him the kind of kitten who settles into new situations without much fuss and seems perfectly content being part of the group. At just two months old and weighing around 3 to 3.5 lbs, Chicken is a sleek little all-black kitten with an old-soul attitude. He may be tiny, but he carries himself with the relaxed confidence of someone who has absolutely no interest in creating unnecessary drama! Chicken enjoys all the classic kitten hobbies. Wand toys are a favorite, and if a crinkle ball or jingle ball is involved, even better. Anything that makes a little noise tends to catch his attention. He'll happily join a play session with his siblings, chase a toy across the room, and then just as happily find a comfortable spot to relax once the excitement winds down. What stands out most about Chicken is his balance. He's playful without being wild, affectionate without demanding constant attention, and independent without disappearing for hours. He enjoys cuddles, but he also seems perfectly comfortable entertaining himself or hanging out nearby. There is an easy confidence about him that makes everyday life feel simple. He doesn't need to be the center of attention to be part of the fun! For such a young kitten, Chicken has adjusted beautifully to home life. He's using the litter box well, has settled comfortably into his crate, and approaches new routines with the same calm attitude he brings to everything else. He's also a great eater and happily enjoys both wet and dry food twice a day. Like most young kittens, his sleep schedule currently consists of short bursts of activity followed by equally important naps, and his routine will become more predictable as he grows. Chicken lives in a home with a 4- to 5-year-old Goldendoodle. While they have been kept separate during the adjustment period, Chicken has shown curiosity rather than hesitation when aware of the dog's presence. The interest appears mutual, with both sides seeming more interested in making friends than creating distance. As with any introduction, a thoughtful transition is important, but Chicken's relaxed nature has made those early observations encouraging. He also gets along well with other cats and enjoys the company of his littermates. He has met a variety of adults and greets both men and women with the same easygoing attitude. He has not yet been exposed to young children, but given his age, a patient and respectful introduction would help him learn the ropes of living with younger family members. If Chicken were a person, he'd be the friend who agrees to whatever plans the group makes and somehow manages to have a great time no matter what. He's content to play, nap, cuddle, explore, and simply be part of whatever is happening around him. At just two months old, Chicken is already proving that sometimes the easiest kittens to love are the ones who don't feel the need to make a big fuss. He's happy to join in, happy to relax, and happy to keep life moving at his own comfortable pace. If Chicken sounds like the kind of companion who would fit right into your home, we'd love for you to apply! Story
Soup has appointed herself manager of absolutely everything, despite weighing only about three pounds. Every toy belongs to her. Every room deserves an inspection. Every new experience is approached with the confidence of someone who assumes she can handle it. She's wonderfully bold, endlessly curious, and carries herself like the tiny CEO of the household. If there's an adventure happening, Soup has already arrived and is making executive decisions! You can watch Soup in action at this link here, then come right back to read more! You'll quickly understand why her personality is so much bigger than her tiny body. Estimated to be around 2 months old, Soup weighs approximately 3 lbs and sports a sleek, all-black coat that somehow makes her look even more serious while she's busy conquering the world. As with all rescue animals, her age is our best educated guess! Living with Soup means embracing kittenhood in all its wonderfully chaotic glory. She wakes up ready to play, explore, climb, investigate, and repeat the process all over again. Wand toys are easily among her favorites, especially if they flutter through the air just out of reach. Noisy toys earn her immediate approval too, and she'll happily entertain herself as long as there's something interesting to chase or pounce on. Soup isn't the kind of kitten who assumes every new person is immediately part of her fan club. She likes a little time to observe unfamiliar faces before deciding they're worth getting to know. Once she's comfortable, though, her personality shines through, and you'll discover an intelligent, entertaining little companion who's full of opinions and never far from the action. She can take some time to warm up to new faces. With a little time, and it won’t take long to see her come out of her shell! She's also an excellent eater and happily enjoys both wet and dry food twice a day. Like many kittens her age, she's still settling into a more predictable sleep routine, and each week she's becoming a little more consistent. Soup has been doing wonderfully with crate training as well. It isn't where she'd choose to spend her afternoon, but she settles nicely and handles it with impressive maturity for such a young kitten. She’s currently been kept separate from the resident Goldendoodle, but has shown significant interest in him and does well when introduced! Nothing about dogs seems particularly intimidating to this confident little kitten. Soup has been comfortable around both men and women and hasn't shown a preference for either. She hasn't had the opportunity to spend time with young children yet, so we'd recommend thoughtful introductions with kids who understand that kittens, especially confident ones like Soup, appreciate gentle handling and respect for their space. Because she's such an active, spirited kitten, Soup will be happiest with a family that's excited to embrace everything that comes with raising one. She'll benefit from plenty of interactive play, enrichment, patience, and consistency as she continues growing and learning. In return, you'll get a hilarious little companion whose confidence, curiosity, and constant commentary make every day a little more entertaining! If you're looking for a kitten with a big personality, an even bigger sense of adventure, and enough determination to keep you smiling, Soup just might be ready to take charge of your home!
