Story
I need to rehome my dog Pringle. She’s a border collie mix and she’s 8 years old as of May. I’ve had her since she was a puppy and I love her dearly, but my living situation changed recently. I lost my job in December and had to leave my home in March. I’ve been staying with family in since, but their landlord doesn’t allow dogs in the house. We have a big fenced yard, a small porch, and a mud room that Pringle can access, but she can’t come all the way inside which is where she wants to be because she’s been an inside dog all her life. As much I want her to stay, I know she’s not happy here and deserves to be somewhere she can be inside with her person/people. Pringle isn’t spayed, but she is up to date on her shots. She’s on NexGard for flea/tick prevention and Interceptor Plus for heart worm prevention. She’s also house trained. She has a very sweet temperament and is gentle and calm. She’d do well with cats, other dogs, and kids.

Story
Meet Palmer Palmer is a handsome ~2½-year-old Border Collie mix who has been patiently waiting for his forever home while he heals from a significant abrasion to his foot, but true to his breed and his resilient spirit, Palmer is ready for a lifetime of the perfect companion. Palmer is happiest while doing what he does best — being active, fetching balls, playing with toys and engaging with his people. He’s smart, athletic, and happiest when he has room to move and a purpose to focus on.? Palmer is house trained and has mastered the “sit” and “wait” commands, proudly showing off his ability to listen and obey when given the positive reinforcement and encouragement he needs to be successful. He loves leash walks, but sometimes his exuberance can be a bit overwhelming but we are sure that with consistency and regular walks, he will learn to be a perfect walking companion. He’s an intelligent dog who thrives with loving, consistent discipline and clear guidance.Palmer would do best in an adult-only household that understands the needs of a driven, intelligent dog and is excited to include him as part of their daily routine. With the right structure, exercise, and affection, Palmer will be a loyal companion, adventure buddy, and devoted best friend.IMPORTANT ADOPTION INFORMATIONThe dog you are considering is located in South Mississippi, with transport available (for an additional fee) to approved adopters in the Northeast. Virtual meet-and-greets are performed prior to adoption.Completing an application is the only way to receive a response from our small rescue team.Submitting an application does NOT commit you to adoption—it simply begins the conversation about whether this dog is the right fit for your family._______________________________________________________________________Apply here: www.animalaidms.org/adopt_______________________________________________________________________If your application is approved and you are a great match, we will follow up with a phone call. Story
Meet Wes — a loyal, well-trained Border Collie with a big personality and an even bigger heart for his people. Wes is a 4-year-old, 42 lb Border Collie who has spent his life being deeply bonded to his family and committed to his routine. He is fully house trained, reliable for an 8-hour workday, walks nicely on a leash (especially with a harness), and rides well in the car. He’s the kind of dog who settles into structure quickly and thrives when he knows what’s expected of him. With his family, Wes is friendly, affectionate, and steady. He enjoys human companionship and is comfortable in a predictable home environment. He is healthy, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Wes does, however, need a very specific placement. He has shown escalating aggression toward other dogs in his home, particularly with a new male puppy, and has demonstrated a strong “alpha” tendency. Because of this, he will do best as the only dog in the home. He should not be placed with other dogs, as he becomes reactive when he feels his space or role is challenged. For the right home, Wes will shine as a devoted solo companion — a dog who bonds closely, follows routine, and wants to be someone’s one-and-only. He is not a dog for dog parks or multi-dog households, but he has every potential to be an incredibly loyal, stable companion in a calm, structured environment. Wes is looking for a home that understands confident, intelligent herding breeds and is committed to giving him clear boundaries, consistency, and the leadership he responds to best. If you’re looking for a deeply loyal partner and can offer a solo-dog home where he can finally relax and just be someone’s best friend, Wes may be exactly that dog.

Story
MEET CHLOE!! She is a sweet, energetic, Border Collie mix (mixed breed unknown). We adopted Chloe as a puppy under the assumption she was a leopard catahoula mix. Chloe has a great desire to herd and we feel it is in her best interest to rehome her to a farm or someone who has some land for her that we cannot provide. She loves everyone, has a dominant personality, loves to chase a laser light, and loves a challenge. She is protective, loves to cuddle, and gets along with our other dogs and cat. She does like to annoy the cat and wants to chase her sometimes. Chloe is crate trained, and sleeps in the crate at night, but roams the house freely during the day. She is goofball and enjoys entertaining herself as well. She is 1½ yrs old and treat driven. Thank you for taking the time to read about her!
