Story
This handsome boys name is Max! Max is a two-year-old Border Collie mix who had a rough start at life. He is mostly blind and had cataract surgery over the summer. Unfortunately post-surgery during a re-check of his eyes he is shown to have progressive retinal atrophy, which means his eyesight will continue to worsen, and once totally blind, he will need both eyes removed to eliminate the possibility of glaucoma. He is well adjusted to being blind, but has unfortunately shown reactivity to strangers, both human and animals. He is an intelligent dog with good food motivation and we are hoping in the right home he will be able to be worked with to reduce his issues with strangers. Ideally he should go to someone with a fenced in yard as he loves to play fetch and wrestle with his toys. Once he is comfortable with someone he does remember them and becomes a big, playful sweetheart. He is also excellent for his multiple daily eye medications. In the right home this boy shows promise to make someone a wonderful companion! Please visit the following link on our website to learn about Second Chance's adoption process. http://www.2ndchanceanimalcenter.org/adoption.html April 25, 2024, 1:24 pm

Story
Our little Blue is the most loving dog you'll ever know. We adopted him as a puppy from a lovely woman who had saved his mother from an abusive family. We thought that we could give him a great home, but with a new baby on the way, the responsibility will unfortunately become too great. This dog needs lots of activity, and we would prefer to see him go to a farm/country setting, as that is what he is used to. We are very flexible with the rehoming fee, and will work with you if you have the right home for him.
