Our app can be found at haydudeequine.org 🐾 Elvis is a 2-year-old Border Collie/Lab mix with a big heart, a playful spirit, and 60 pounds of pure love. He has a wonderful balance of energy and calmness—always ready for a game of fetch, but just as happy to relax and spend time with his favorite people. This handsome guy never met a toy he didn't like, but fetch is definitely one of his favorite activities. If you've got a ball to throw, Elvis is ready for the job! When playtime is over, he loves scratches on his hips and lower tummy and will gladly soak up all the affection you can give. Elvis came from a farm and would thrive in a home where he gets plenty of attention, love, and opportunities to stay active. He's an incredibly sweet dog who loves being part of the family and would make an amazing companion for adventures, backyard games, and cozy evenings at home. He's great with cats and other animals, though if a cat decides to sprint across the room, Elvis may see it as an invitation to a friendly game of chase. (He thinks everyone should want to play as much as he does!) If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving, family-friendly dog who will keep you smiling and remind you to enjoy the simple things in life, Elvis is your guy. All he needs is a forever family to love.

Story
We found this sweet heeler abandoned on a county road in February, severely underweight. He was meant to be a temporary rescue, but we hoped we could keep him. Unfortunately, we’ve realized we can’t provide the environment he needs long-term. He is incredibly smart and learned sit, stay, place, down, and shake within a week. He’s eager to learn, loves having a job, and would thrive on acreage or with an active owner familiar with working breeds. We and our vet suspect he has a form of polydipsia. He drinks excessive amounts of water, which causes very frequent urination. Despite consistent potty training, he often urinates without warning and may never be a reliable indoor dog. This is a heartbreaking decision, but we want to find him a home that better fits his needs and allows him to succeed.
