Story
Ricky is a 52 pound, approximately 1 year old, neutered male, Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix type dog. Ricky, Ricky, RICKY!!! Boy oh boy is this dog a SUPERSTAR! Ricky is an incredibly smart, energetic, enthusiastic, talkative, sweet, loving young boy. Ricky has all of the qualities of a herding type dog, and if you don't know what we mean by that, he might not be the right fit for you. Ricky came to us as a stray, so we don't know anything about his background but we suspect his previous owners were not prepared for how much activity (physical AND mental) Ricky needs every day to be the best he can be. Ricky still needs a lot of work on his manners, but he is very eager to please. He has earned gold stars for being an exceptionally good running partner, and we think he could do well in a home with a canine playmate. That being said, Ricky would need to meet any other dogs in the household before going home. If you love a smart, active, go getter of a dog, Ricky may be the perfect pal for you. **All adoption candidates have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated and wormed! Adoptions include a free veterinary visit, a coupon for Feed Corral on Hwy 101, and a coupon from Mini Pet Mart. If you live in Lincoln County and have dogs in the home, they must be licensed in Lincoln County (requires current rabies vaccination) and do a meet and greet here at the shelter. If you rent, you would need permission from your landlord to have a pet. Phone messages and emails will be returned in the order they are received. You may reach us at 541-265-0720 or lcanimalshelter@co.lincoln.or.us for more information.

Story
Hi, I'm Whisky, a 3.5 yo border collie mix. I'm smart and a fast learner. I love to learn tricks and play with humans and other dogs. I live with loving parents but unfortunately, I don't like my parents' roommates. I'm shy around new people but I'm loving, energetic, and silly around my loved ones. My parents want me to have a better environment to grow and live. I hope to have a new home where my human can spend more time with me and teach me new things outside the house. I looooove exercising and cuddling with my human. My parents play fetch with me every night before bed. I would love my new human could also spare some time every day to play fetch with me too or any exercise, really. I also prefer a work-from-home or someone who can bring me to work because they can spend more time with me 🥺🤞

Story
Pepe is 100% a staff favorite. This boy is a typical border collie. He bonds to his person very quickly and will follow you anywhere. He is shy but he gets his confidence from you. He will make someone a great best friend. He would do best in a country setting as leash walks in the city are more difficult than walks off leash in the country. He has shown remarkable "herding instincts" here at SafeHaven so he may make a great working dog also with training. An adult home with some property is what we are dreaming of for this sweet boy.
