Story
Hi&#44 Im Earl Grey! Im a smart&#44 athletic guy with a big heart and a playful spirit. I love chasing tennis balls&#44 squeaky toys&#44 and soaking up every minute of outdoor time (especially if it includes a belly rub in the middle of a walk!). Ive got plenty of energy and enthusiasm&#44 and Im hoping to find an active home where I can be your go-to adventure buddy.

Id do best in a home thats a bit more low-key-one without too much hustle and bustle&#44 and with adults or older teens who understand dogs like me. Im not a fan of cats&#44 and I prefer more one-on-one time with my people rather than busy dog parks.

If youre an experienced&#44 dog-savvy person looking for a fun&#44 devoted companion&#44 I think we could be a perfect match. I cant wait to find my person.

Earl Grey qualifies for our Patient Paws special. Youll be able to name your own adoption fee!

Story
Rockstar Ms. Riley Ray didn’t get her name by accident — she earned it with heart, resilience, and a spirit that refuses to fade. This stunning 8-year-old purebred Border Collie has lived a life that didn’t quite match the energy she was born with. Adopted as a puppy by a loving older couple, Riley grew up surrounded by affection but very little structure. Long days indoors, extra bites of fast food and table scraps, and almost no exercise slowly took a toll. By the time her elderly parents entered nursing care, Riley had reached an unhealthy 81 pounds — a heavy weight for a dog meant to run free. Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in and promised Riley and the family that her story wouldn’t end there. Since arriving, she has begun her comeback tour. Beneath the extra pounds is the bright, athletic, ball-obsessed girl she was always meant to be. Riley lives for fetch. The moment a ball appears, her eyes light up and her whole body comes alive. It’s as if she’s saying, “This is who I really am.” She is affectionate, loyal, incredibly smart, and still has so much joy and drive left to give. Riley is searching for an active home that understands Border Collies and will help her continue her health journey. She doesn’t want to sit on the sidelines anymore — she wants to run, chase, play, and finally live the life her breed was built for. Her past may have slowed her down, but it never dimmed her spark. Now she’s ready for the next chapter, one filled with movement, purpose, and a human who will see the Rockstar she truly is. Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested PLEASE NOTE: Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted. Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site. The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive. Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 19, 2026, 6:56 pm

Story
Some dogs just have a way of reaching right into your heart, and Vanna is one of them. She’s a soft, scruffy little doodle mix with warm eyes and a gentle nature that makes you feel like she’s known you forever. Her life started in hardship, born out in the woods to a doodle mix mama dog owned by a homeless man who simply couldn’t give the puppies a future indoors. At only 8 at the time weeks old, Vanna and her sister were rescued by a kind young woman who brought them home and loved them dearly for the last ten months. Unfortunately, life circumstances changed and she bravely chose what was best for Vanna rather than holding on when she could no longer afford the vet care and stability Vanna needs. Now Critter Cavalry Rescue will finish everything to prepare her for a bright new chapter — spay, vaccines, heartworm test, and microchip. Vanna weighs 26 pounds and has that soft, fluffy coat that will absolutely glow with a little grooming. She’s happiest when she’s with other dogs and really doesn’t do well spending long days crated and alone. She wants activity, companionship, and people who include her in daily life. Leash skills are still new to her, but she’s bright and willing, and she’ll blossom quickly with gentle guidance. A fenced yard or daily off-leash playtime is a must for this girl. She loves to stretch her legs and run, and while she will stay close, her recall comes from trust and bonding, which she gives wholeheartedly once she feels safe. Vanna is loving, affectionate, and full of gratitude for every bit of kindness she’s ever been shown. Her previous mom saved her life — now we want to find the family who will cherish it forever. Think you might be the one for Vanna?
