Hello friends, we have a very special pup wed like to update you about. His name is Bubbles, a happy 14 month old little boy who weighs in at a whopping 10.5 lbs. He is a very smart little guy, he knows how to navigate puppy stairs and gets on the sofa and out of the back yard (3steps) for play and potty. He has perfected the side eye when he knows he might being doing something naughty. He lovvvvees soft toys and nylabones.
Bubbles is a tiny pup who loves to play with the other pups in his foster home as well as plays on his own yet he would do best as your one and only, and you will need time to dedicate to him. Like any puppy, he likes to chew on things, so he will need age appropriate puppy chew toys and a quick human to take rocks, twigs, leaves and anything he wants to taste, other than food, away from him. After playtime, he will settle down in a soft puppy bed or lap to relax. Please remember, puppies require ALOT of time, patience and consistency, especially in potty breaks. He does use a pee pad in his sleeping area at night, his tiny bladder can not hold it for several hours, he will need a very patient human in his furever home. Also, dont forget, he is very curious so youll need to puppy proof your home for his safety. A work from home family, or one who only works away from the home for just a few hours a day will be given preference.
Bubbles came to us over a year ago with GI issues. We have taken him to vets and vet specialists to try and determine what is causing the sensitive GI tract. After numerous, and we mean numerous visits and tests with Veterinarians, we still dont have a concrete answer. A lot of people say its a Frenchie thing. We have been patient and consistent with his current diet and he is thriving. He does have a meal plan that will need to be strictly adhered to so he can continue to thrive. His food costs approximately $50.00 a week, and has to be made for him. Bubbles foster makes his food every 2 weeks, and will freeze portions for him. Obviously its going to take a VERY special person who will commit to this and of course to just love and dote on him.
He does have some quirks. Dont we all?? He hates when his foster mom takes out the trash. He attacks the trash can and the trash bag, so he needs to be in an area away from this when this chore is in progress. We have no idea why he does that...funny, but not funny if you get the drift
He sleeps in an x-pen with pee pads. He can not hold his pee or poo for the entire night. He currently goes out at 10-1030p for his last potty break and first one at 630am for outside time. He is then taken for a 30-40 minute walk. He is fed at 730a, 12n and 5p. He will remind you of these times if you happen to forget. He does well on leash walks and prefers to be the leader if you happen to walk with more than one dog or if you run into neighborhood pups while you are out.
If you are eating..keep a watchful eye as he will try to take anything and every piece of food from you, even if you are mid-bite and he is close by, (remember he is on a special diet and CANNOT eat anything other than the home made food). Be very careful not to drop any food, if you do and he gets there first he will have loose stools for a few days. Trust us, its not worth it.
Bubbles must have a family that will continue to show him all the good things that life has to offer, and will be willing to prepare his meals as stated, and be 100% committed and patient with him. We realize this is a lot to ask of someone, its not easy, but believe us, he is totally worth it. Considering his medical needs, we are looking for a family that is home a lot, VERY agile, and can spend the time with him that is needed. If you feel you might be that special human, please fill out an application at www.viprescue.org. We will discuss in detail all of his medical info with approved applications.
Bubbles has been neutered, is current on his vaccines, microchipped, and is current on heartworm and flea prevention.
Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If youve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 15-18 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pets estimated lifespan.
All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application. Please make sure to read the entire bio of the pet youre interested in before applying to adopt to make sure you meet the pets needs. Thank you for thinking rescue.
