Story
***Local adoption only: Dunkaroo needs to be adopted by a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking him to his follow-up vetting appointments for remaining vaccines and neuter with PPR's vetting partner. These appointments have already been scheduled and their cost is covered in the adoption donation.*** Hi, I’m Dunkaroo! I'm a Boston Terrier blend and I'm just 3 months old. We don't know how big I'll grow to be yet, but I'm already a strapping 6 pounds. Part Kangaroo, part Dunkin Donuts-level of sweetness, I'm just your typical puppy who loves snacks, snuggles, toys, and playtime and who is looking for someone who will love me forever.  Favorite Things: Dunkaroo is all puppy. He loves toys: the more, the merrier (particularly if he can chew them). He is an active and energetic pup, loves playtime and he is a bit of a foodie.  Training & Manners: This smart cookie has learned a lot in his three months, but he still has some tricks to pick up. He needs more practice with housetraining, leash-walking, etc. He will need an adopter who is experienced with large breed dogs and who is active and willing to put in the training that is needed to raise a large breed puppy.  Health & Care: Dunkaroo is a healthy pup! He will just need an adopter who will commit to taking him to his final puppy vetting appointments (including neuter).  These have already been scheduled with PPR’s vet partner in Central Florida and are covered by his adoption donation. As far grooming goes, this easygoing guy shouldn't need too much elaborate grooming.  Other Animals: An energetic, gregarious guy, Dunkaroo does well with other playful dogs Children: This bouncy guy gets along well with older children (ages 8+) who can match his activity level.  Ideal Home: This sweet guy would do best in a single family home, because he is still adjusting to being left alone as a young puppy so he barks and cries when left alone. Overall: Do you think adopting Dunkaroo would be a slam dunk? If so, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like a good match, our team will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $475. ##2718828##

Story
Found strutting through a Winn-Dixie parking lot like he owned the place, Bean Pie was adopted and sadly recently returned due to his adopter facing multiple upcoming surgeries and no longer being able to keep up with this quirky little character. Now he’s a sturdy 45 lbs of attitude, adventure, and affection all rolled into one compact pup. He’s part lizard hunter, part cuddle bug—and 100% entertaining. Bean Pie loves car rides, gnawing on his favorite bone, and soaking up affection. He has big feelings about trucks (barking is his preferred language), and while he enjoys outings, leash manners are still a work in progress. He’s used to having free roam of the house and usually naps when left alone. At night, he settles into his bed or the coziest corner he can find. Just keep an eye on the door—this clever boy won’t miss an open opportunity. Bean Pie is dog-selective and would do best as your one-and-only or with a dog his own size. No small animals or kids, please—he can get mouthy when overexcited, so a calm, experienced adult home is where he’ll thrive.Bean Pie does have a partial cruciate ligament tear, which means he may occasionally limp if he overdoes it on activity. In a home environment, this may be very manageable with conservative care—taking things easy, limiting high-impact activity, and using over-the-counter pain management as needed. That said, we want what’s best for him long-term. We are happy to send Bean Pie home as a foster-to-adopt, and if surgery ultimately becomes necessary, H.A.L.O. would cover the cost, as long as the adopter is willing to handle the post-surgery recovery and care.If you’re looking for a big personality in a compact body and don’t mind helping him take life a little slower, Bean Pie might be your perfect slice. 🐾🍰Requirements: Martingale Collar; Dog Selective; Calm Children 16+; Foster-To-Adopt (Knee Injury)All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.
