Meet Pippa!
Pippa is an adorable French Bulldog/Boston Terrier mix, born July 25, 2026, with a big personality packed into one very special little puppy!
Pippa is a double merle and was born deaf. She and her sister were surrendered when their breeder realized they could not hear and recognized that they were not equipped to find the specialized homes these girls deserve. Thankfully, being deaf doesn't stop Pippa from enjoying life! She is otherwise healthy, happy, social, sweet, and ready to learn everything a puppy needs to know.
Pippa experiences the world a little differently, but deaf dogs are incredibly capable of learning and communicating through hand signals, visual cues, touch, and consistent routines. We are specifically seeking an adopter who has experience with deaf dogs or has taken the time to thoroughly educate themselves and is prepared to provide the training, structure, and safety precautions Pippa will need throughout her life.
In addition to her deafness, Pippa is a brachycephalic breed mix. Her future family should understand the special considerations that come with flat-faced breeds, including careful monitoring during exercise and warm weather, maintaining a healthy weight, and being attentive to potential respiratory and other breed-related concerns.
And, of course, Pippa is still a puppy! Her new family should be prepared for all the normal puppy adventures: house training, crate training, leash training, socialization, teething, chewing, occasional accidents, learning boundaries, and plenty of playtime. Raising a puppy requires patience, consistency, time, and a sense of humor—and raising a deaf puppy requires an additional level of commitment.
Because of her unique needs, Pippa is not recommended for a first-time dog owner. We are seeking serious, dedicated adopters who understand that choosing Pippa means committing to meeting her needs not just while she's an adorable puppy, but for her entire life.
Pippa would be best suited for a home with older, dog-savvy children who can understand and respect the unique ways she communicates and learns. Like most puppies, she is energetic, playful, and still figuring out appropriate boundaries. Because she cannot hear the vocal corrections or warnings another dog may give her, she may not recognize when an older dog has had enough of her puppy antics. For this reason, a home with senior dogs would not be the best match. A tolerant, playful canine companion who is comfortable with puppy energy may be a much better fit.
Pippa can go home with her new family in foster-to-adopt status until her spay surgery has been completed at 6 months of age (February 2027) at one of our partner veterinary offices in Chesterfield, Clawson, Clinton Township, or Rochester. Her spay surgery is included in the adoption fee, and completion through one of our designated veterinary partners is non-negotiable.
Pippa may not be able to hear you tell her she's a good girl, but she'll certainly know it through your patience, your touch, your guidance, and a lifetime of love. If you have experience with deaf dogs, understand the needs of brachycephalic breeds, and are ready to give this special little girl the dedicated home she deserves, Pippa may be waiting for you!

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.
FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
