Meet Moxi: Female French Bulldog/Boston Terrier mix puppy Introducing spunky, feisty yet sweet Moxi who truly lives up to her name. DOB Aug 16, 2025, Moxi was surrendered to our rescue by a commercial breeder due to her blindness in one eye. We have also spent quite a lot on Moxi's ophthalmology appts, testing and assessments. Energy Level: High Personality: Happy, affectionate, cuddly, very high energy, and very playful. Suitability: Moxi is very high energy and is working on learning to respect other pet's boundaries. She is learning with her foster's dedication to her training but will do best either as an only dog or with a dog who is young, playful and tolerant of her high energy. Moxi is not suitable for a senior dog companion in her new home or a dog whom isn't tolerant of playful puppies. Not recommended with children under 10yrs ? Daily Routine Adjusting to expected indoor behaviours with consistent verbal redirection. Goes outside every couple of hours for potty training. Has full access to most rooms when supervised, with doors closed as needed for safety. Crate time used for napping, calming, and helping regulate overstimulation. ? Motivation & Training Food motivated: Extremely — great for training! Training status: Learning basic commands; still very much a work in progress. Requires a family home often and committed to supervision, routine, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Needs support learning to self-calm, both indoors and around other dogs. Crate trained: Yes — settles quietly and finds it calming. Leash skills: A work in progress Handling: Loves being touched, handled, and fussed over (ears, tail, paws, etc.). ? Behaviour With Dogs & Cats With dogs: Friendly but plays rough. Can escalate into a frenzied state while attempting to engage other dogs. Requires human interruption/redirection to prevent over-arousal. Cats: No ? Behaviour With People Loves meeting new people, both in the home and out in public. Affectionate and enjoys cuddling once settled. ? Potty Training Still in progress. Does not like cold or wet weather and may choose to eliminate indoors. Needs ongoing housetraining and outings consistency and supervision. ? Indoor Behaviour Typical busy puppy: will get into anything if not supervised. Needs vigilant monitoring when loose in the home. Benefits from structured downtime — crate time helps her reset. Chewer: Requires appropriate chew items like bully sticks, tendons, and puppy-safe chews. ? Mental Stimulation Needs Very intelligent and will excel with: Training games, Puzzle toys, Enrichment activities, Regular structured routines ? Strengths & Improvements Improving in: Regulation of her frenzied energy during play with expert guidance from her foster mom. Respecting other dogs’ boundaries. Strengths: Affectionate, Eager to learn, Extremely food motivated, No separation anxiety Calm, quiet, and content in her crate ? Transportation: Rides well in vehicles. No motion sickness or travel-related anxiety observed. ? Ideal Adoptive Home-Moxi is not a suitable fit for an inexperience family, ideally a family familiar with terrier temperament and energy level. An adopter experienced with: High-energy puppies Over-arousal behaviours Positive training and redirection Needs a patient, committed human who is firm but kind. Adults-only home or with older children; no young children. Someone home often who can provide: Structure and boundaries. Consistent training, Supervision, Plenty of mental and physical exercise Medical note: Moxi has some congenital (from birth) eye abnormalities, which means her eyes developed a bit differently. This is something she has likely had her whole life. Left Eye: Moxi is fully blind in her left eye due to a congenital malformation. If the eye ever becomes painful, surgical removal (enucleation) may be recommended, but this is not currently needed. Right Eye: Her right eye has vision. It does have some corneal pigmentation and mild cloudiness, likely related to lower tear production and her congenital eye differences. Because of this, her right eye may be at risk for developing secondary glaucoma later in life, so monitoring is important. Current Treatment & Care Medication: Optimmune immunomodulatory eye drops for the corneal pigmentation in a puppy of this age. Once daily Optixcare lubricant 2–3 times daily in both eyes to protect and moisturize. ?? Final Notes Moxi is an incredibly bright, joyful puppy who loves people and thrives with appropriate engagement. With the right guidance, boundaries, and enrichment, she will grow into an amazing lifelong companion. Meet Bruce a 4 year old french bulldog weighing 34 pounds. Please read ENTIRE bio! Bruce was in San Antonio animal care center after being on bit quarantine. This “bite” was not documented so I can neither confirm nor deny that Bruce bit somebody. Bruce is very happy here and I have seen zero aggression from him. Acs was also told that he does not like men however he met two men and was just as happy to see them as the next person. He is wiggly , funny and strong. He knows sit, ,paw, waits for treats and food, and has good potty and leash manners . He is an excellent dog the right person. Bruce can be a dominant dog and does have some of the not always so great traits of a bully breed. He can be stubborn. He does tend to bark a lot when you first leave the house and his bark is LOUD. He appears to have separation anxiety . He needs a home where his human is home a lot. He wants to be with his human as much as possible. Bruce is also dominant with SOME other dogs. Mostly large or dominant dogs. He likes to posture . He would be best adopted to a person with experience of these little potatoes and their sometimes bully tendencies. That being said he has been around puppies and chihuahuas and was fine. He wants nothing to do with that old lady chi sass hahahahaha. The owner surrender also stated he air nips when angry . I have yet to see this from him but I know my bull dog does the air chatter nip thing when she is acting like a capital B. 🙂 He is short and strong. I call him stud muffin. He listens well and loves everyone he meets but because of his prior supposed bite history , we require he placed in a child free home. As far as this possible biting or aggression: I have taken his wet food away from him. I have taken treats out of his mouth. I have taken his toys. Zero reaction. He is just excited I am there. The only time he ever growled was when we were playing tug of war and he got a little pissy because I would not let him win, he did give a little growl that appeared past the point of just “play” I corrected him with a stern NO and took the tot away and then he acted totally emo for the next hour like I killed his best friend. Also a very bully emotion. His coat is very soft and he is fine being groomed. He has shown zero aggression here and honestly has been a very happy, energetic and excitable kid.
