Story
Dj is a 2 year old that looks like a Boxer/ Lab mix boy! His mother was rescued by animal control from an abuse situation and she had 8 beautiful puppies while in the pound when they were charging her owner. Mother and puppies were brought to the rescue as soon as they could be released from animal control and all are thriving! There mother is 30 lbs and looks like a bull terrier or shar pei mix because she has such a rounded face. Dj weighs about 45 lbs.  DJ is one of bigger pups and most laid back of the group. He loves to be right next to you. He is playful and loves to eat. Neither he or his siblings destroy durable toys but they will shred a sheet or tent.  He is not good with male dogs but is good with cats and kids. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $250. April 25, 2024, 11:21 pm

Story
Leon is a handsome 4 year old Boxer/ Boston terrier mix that weighs 40 lbs right now! He is a shy boy but very sweet once you give him a moment. Leon has had a rough life and his little body tells the tale. He has an underbite so his tongue sticks out quite a bit only making him cuter! He is great with kids but does not do well with dogs and will kill a cat! He is mostly crate trained. Leon has been neutered, fully vaccinated and dewormed and has been treated for heartworms and is NEGATIVE now. His adoption fee is $200. April 25, 2024, 11:21 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If you are interested in any of the FFOSK9 pups,  the first step is to fill out an application at  http://www.ffosk9resq.org/info/adoption . We believe Elmo might just have some Boxer mix in him. He was a bit timid in the beginning too but he has come around to trusting us at his foster home. He loves racing his brother Ernie when tossing toys, especially balls and knotted ropes and playing tug of war with him. Elmo currently weighs 40 pounds is neutered, tested negative for heartworms, up to date on all vaccines, and he has been on his monthly prevention for heartworms, flea, ticks and parasites.   Adoption Fee is $325 to help cover the cost of vetting, neuter, vaccines and preventatives as well as daily needs. Application must be submitted prior to being considered to adopt.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  We are a home based, not for profit organization in Northeast Alabama that helps place forgotten and unwanted pets in forever homes.  We are an all volunteer, 501(c)3  organization.  We rescue pets from high kill shelters, prior to being euthanized, as well as strays and unwanted pets. We do not adopt to "outside only" homes nor do we adopt to anyone who wishes to crop, dock, or do any other alterations except the spaying and neutering of their pets.  All pets are completely vetted, up to date on all vaccines, and given rabies certificates.   April 20, 2024, 8:02 pm

Story
Oh.. Hello. My name is Riley. I haven't been at the shelter very long and my birthday is December 24th. I came to the shelter as a puppy. Just look at my happy, smiling face! I'm a big guy that's super shy, but boy do I love treats. If you give me time to trust you, I'll happily wag my tail and bark for your attention (those treats help convince me). I really would love a sweet family! Paws crossed that all of my dreams come true.

Story
Hello everyone. My name is Jaxon. My birthday is on January 7th. I was rescued as a stray by Animal Control and brought to Second Chance Shelter in Boaz Alabama on January 7, 2021. I have been at the shelter since I was a year old . I want to be the King of the house so I need to be the only dog. I love people and giving them all kinds of lovings. If you are looking for a dog to give unconditional love and attention, I'm the furbaby for you. I know how to sit, on occasion, and I can wait pretty patiently for my food. My friends here at the shelter love to visit me and I trade kisses for treats. I think I am pretty good at giving kisses.
