Story
Hello everyone. My name is Jaxon. My birthday is on January 7th. I was rescued as a stray by Animal Control and brought to Second Chance Shelter in Boaz Alabama on January 7, 2021. I have been at the shelter since I was a year old . I want to be the King of the house so I need to be the only dog. I love people and giving them all kinds of lovings. If you are looking for a dog to give unconditional love and attention, I'm the furbaby for you. I know how to sit, on occasion, and I can wait pretty patiently for my food. My friends here at the shelter love to visit me and I trade kisses for treats. I think I am pretty good at giving kisses.

Story
Update 6/8: unfortunately Rocket had a severe reaction to heartworm treatment. He is back at the clinic receiving medical care and will be available for adoption again once he feels better. Look at this chonky boy sporting his house hippo shirt! Rocket wants to make sure he sets expectations from the beginning. If you're interested in a running partner, just keep on looking, but if you're looking for a goofy house hippo who loves to hang out and enjoys a low key lifestyle, he is your man. This boy is somewhere between middle age and senior and around 65 lbs of love. He is easy going, walks well on the leash, came in with another dog and has not been reactive to other dogs in his vicinity, but we haven't done close up introductions, so we'll have to update on that next week. He is currently at Guntersville Animal Hospital & Surgery Center and you can visit him Mon-Fri 7:30-5:30 and Sat 7:30-noon. Location is at 1609 Henry St, Guntersville, AL. No appointment necessary. Adoption includes age appropriate vaccine, wellness exam, fecal and dewormer, and a neuter to be scheduled at time of adoption.

Story
I Adopted Vinny from a shelter back in January and i’m struggling to meet all of his daily needs. I work long hours and can’t give him the constant attention he needs. He’s a super sweet boy who loves long walks and cuddles. He rarely barks unless he wants something and he loves to play tug of war and race. He’s an old boy and i’m unsure about most of his history, though he does have a scar on the top of his head, a split ear and has lost his canines. I’d love to chat some more about this big bully who’d love a new home!

These pups are in Boaz, Alabama too!
