Story
Levi is a boxer that likes to box - look at him throwing paws! These feisty pictures do nothing to show off how much of a sweetheart this guy truly is! Levi loves to give big hugs, and is always up for a playdate. Staff at HSSI believe he has yet to realize he's 60+ pounds. His perfect day is laying in his parents lap and getting alllll the snuggles. Levi is around 2-3 years old, neutered, and almost finished with the vaccines he needs to be able to go to his forever home! This big boy is dog, cat, and people friendly. Whatever you throw his way, he'll take in stride! The more the merrier for Mr. Levi. All animals must be spayed or neutered and vaccinated for rabies before they can go home.

🎁🐾 Angel: A Gift of Love in a Compact Package 🐾🎁 This holiday season, unwrap the greatest gift of all – the boundless love of Angel. While she might not be the largest boxer you've ever met, Angel more than compensates with the size of her BIG heart. Angel's Special Qualities: 🐾 Stature: Not the biggest, but the most heartful ❤️ Heart: Overflowing with love and affection However, Angel carries the weight of past traumas, making her quite apprehensive around other dogs and not fond of our feline friends. As you can imagine, shelter life is especially stressful for this sensitive pup. In a time when our animal control is stretched to its limit, we're making a heartfelt plea. Let's ensure that these discarded four-legged family members don't spend the holidays alone, devoid of the warmth of a loving family. Responsibilities for Angel's New Family: 🏷️ Microchip: To ensure her safety and easy identification 💉 UTD on Shots: Keeping her vaccinations up-to-date ✂️ Spayed: Already taken care of, so no additional worries These extras are not included in the adoption fee but are crucial for Angel's continued well-being. Let Angel be the gift that keeps on giving, radiating love, warmth, and joy in your home. Contact us today if you're ready to welcome this precious soul into your family. Let's make this holiday season one filled with love, compassion, and the companionship of a furry friend. 🏡❤️🐾

Story
Peter is the whole package wrapped in a stunning brindle coat, a testament to the chaotic mix of bird dog, hound, and boxer that defines him. Sadly, Peter's short time on this earth has been marred by tragedy. Found alone, scared, and starving, he carries the scars of being forgotten by those he loved the most. This brave boy has faced his share of challenges. Peter is terrified by cats, likely a result of past traumatic experiences. He also exhibits some food aggression, a coping mechanism developed from having to fight for scraps in the past. Despite his hardships, Peter remains people-friendly and eager to play. As we approach the season of full bellies, good friends, and warm hugs, consider sharing that warmth with forgotten pups like Peter. Our animal control is reaching its limit, and we don't want any of these formerly neglected dogs spending the holidays cold and alone. They deserve a chance at a loving family, and Peter is no exception. For Peter's well-being, his new family will play a crucial role. Microchipping, neutering, and ensuring he is up-to-date on vaccinations are essential steps to guarantee his health and safety. Please note that these additional measures are not included in the adoption fee and must be covered by the adopters upon pickup. If you're ready to offer Peter the love, security, and fresh start he deserves, consider making him a part of your family. Let him experience the joy and warmth of a loving home, and make this holiday season one to remember.

Story
Please consider adopting this wonderful senior boy. He has waited patiently for his forever home after previous adopters have let him down. The love this boy has to give is like no other. He is AWAYS happy and glad to see you. He loves to sit and be loved on and will give so much joy to you. Mikey is a Lab/Pit Bull mix who was born in August of 2011, He was adopted from PAWS after he had been found abandoned out in the middle of nowhere. The family had him for about a year, and then they got a couple more dogs. That didn't work out because Mikey prefers to be an only child (dog). He has been adopted out three times and keeps getting brought back because his adopters end up bringing another dog or cat into the home and that just doesn't work out. He does well with people, he just prefers not to share them. He loves to cuddle, wants to be a lap dog, and he will smile for you. He also loves belly rubs! He is getting a few grey hairs and aging a bit but he still has many years and a lot of love to give. Mikey is a wonderful, friendly, funny, active boy who would love to live out his life in someone's home and heart. If you are looking for the perfect boy who will make you his whole world, consider adding Mikey to your family. He is a beautiful boy. He has been neutered, micro-chipped, dewormed, has been tested for heartworms, is current on his routine vaccinations and is on a heartworm preventative. The adoption fee for him is $150.

Story
Connor is an energetic boy looking for a home for the holidays! He is a medium size dog that loves walks, runs, playing, literally anything that involves movement! He walks great on a leash but would love a home with a big fenced in yard! he can be an escape artist but if he had a friend to play with constantly we think he would like his pen a whole lot more lol. He is such a good natured boy and means no harm to anybody! he gets along with everybody at the shelter but likes to chase cats a little too much to be in a home with them. He is also house trained and kennel trained! His adoption fee has been reduced due to already being neutered and rabies vaccinated. His adoption fee is $100 and he will need a heartworm test and microchip. Please call 618-833-4915 to come see him! Are you interested in adopting this pet? Meet Sierra, one of our LONGEST RESIDENTS at Hotel HSSI! She is a mature boxer/pittie mix who has been with us for several months. She has had sooo much fun and made so many memories here, but she tells us literally everyday that she can't WAIT to find a family that she can play with forever! In her time here, she's shown us lots of patience while being here. We've worked with her to learn basic training. She is crate trained and treat motivated, which makes her super easy to teach her new tricks! She is dog friendly and good with kids! She has the SWEETEST heart and all she wants to do is show you how much love she can actually give you. She is fully vetted (Multiple rounds of boosters, dewormer, spayed and microchipped) and waiting on her new home! All animals must be spayed or neutered and vaccinated for rabies before they can go home.

Miss Dotty Fay lets everyone in the neighborhood know she's here! She takes a little while to warm up to a human, but once she does, she can be a real sweetheart. Just look at those ears! She loves to give kisses and hugs and she is all about the attention. She loves toys and yummy treats and would love find a home where she can play, go on walks, and lounge around the house. Extra bonus points if you have a comfy couch for her to snooze on.Dotty Fay will require a dog meet and we can always cat test again if needed! All animals must be spayed or neutered and vaccinated for rabies before they can go home.
