O sweet Cade came as a stray. He has a bit of a skin issue at this time, but it is healing. It was caused from fleas. He is super sweet and just wants to be the center of your world. Those eyes just speak volumes when he looks at you. We are unsure how he is with other dogs, cats or children since he did come as a stray. So, if you have a resident dog there will be a mandatory meet and greet and if you have small children, it is recommended that they come along so we can assess if he will be tolerable. He is just a lovebug with all of the staff and all new people he meets.

Meet Lady 10 years old | Female Boxer | 54 lbs Don't let the gray on her face fool you. Lady still has plenty of pep in her step and a whole lot of love left to give. She was examined by our veterinarian yesterday and received a clean bill of health with zero concerns. She's simply a wonderful senior girl looking for a soft place to land and a family to call her own. Lady dreams of being the queen of her castle and would do best as the only animal in the home. She's great with kids, loves going for leisurely walks, and enjoys taking her time exploring every interesting smell along the way. Her signature look? That adorable little tongue that is almost always peeking out, making her impossible not to smile at. When we first shared Lady, so many people fell in love with her sweet face and goofy smile. We received lots of interest, but sadly no one followed through. While the world kept scrolling, Lady kept waiting. Senior dogs have a quiet kind of magic. They trade puppy chaos for gentle companionship, grateful eyes, and a heart that's ready to love with everything it has. Lady isn't asking for much, just a comfy bed, a few walks, lots of belly rubs, and someone who will keep their promise to bring her home. Could you be the happy ending this beautiful boxer has been waiting for? If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list. The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, and are dewormed.
